If I asked a landscape gardener to come and give me a quote for some work and he turned up with a plate like that I would never give him the job, simply because I would be able to tell by seeing that what kind of person Mark was!

I expect that applies to a few people on here (and perhaps lots of other people too).

It's one thing to put a chavvy plate on one's private car but if you're going to put a personalised plate on a company vehicle which is a rolling advert for the business, at least make sure it is a good one and legal too.
yes
Me too. In fact I wouldn't even consider offering anyone turning up with a Chavplate on their van any work.

On that subject, this example was doing a boiler change at one of my neighbours in January this year (apologies for the long range / cropped phone pic):

Yes, that's GA51 CAN spaced out as GAS I CAN in a crappy italic font.

X 20E B X (front) / X 20E BX (rear) / X20 EBX on a 6 series convertible in Camberley. The plate may have 2 "kisses" on it but the owner wasn't the sort of person you'd want to be kissing tbh.

Plus these 3 feature in Performance Ford magazine this month.

ST11G ST / ST11 GST - Bonus points for the licence plate surround featuring "RS Motorsport" when the car is an ST and also for the "Sorry Officer" slogan - referencing the owner and how he evidently gets regularly pulled over by the Police rolleyes

Saw a Volvo XC90 on Friday bearing a particularly sad effort - S111 OOT with black screw heads between the 1s so it read SHlOOT. Sort of...

Annoyingly I was driving so no photo.

There is a great, non c124ppy and correctly spaced plate near me: V1 CKY. Always noticed as it's my wife's name. Spotted it yesterday driving along a high street, then parking up next to another car that had the numberplate V1GKY spaced incorrectly, complete with yellow screw cover.

Made me chuckle when I thought of the owner of V1GKY dying a little inside when they returned to their car!

<edited to see that V1GKY was spotted on page 33!>

M6 RAY spelt out M 6RAY
tbh it did actually look like M GRAY (no screw caps or nothing or council text) so it's a "meh" in my books.

If it was M6 RAY and it was on a 640d and it was spaced like that I would just think "tosser"
