Plenty of space, plenty of power, looks cool, basically has everything covered.

Without any practical thinking

Good shout this pair!
I don't think anyone on this site has bad taste! :-)

My top 3 road cars have all been mentioned, so i'll go with this instead... biggrin

McLaren MP4/15 - Continuing the design theme from the previous 2 seasons coupled with the best-sounding F1 engine in history.

This is one of "those" questions... I find it impossible to give just one answer.

For a cover-all-basis - Ferrari FF. Big V12, fast, practical enough, all-weather ability, seems to be confortable, and there's something I like about its shooting-brake profile.

Or sod practicality and everything else. Give me an Alfa 33 Stradale and I'd just look at it for days

got to agree with the FF. For a one car fits all need - i.e. going to work, giving people a lift, fitting stuff in the boot and blasting everywhere all through the year. great choice

275 GTB4 Spyder - OK the chassis flexes - but it looks and sounds fantastic!

For me, it has to be a 997 GTS with a manual box and the diff. Touches every base I want in a car (rwd, manual, normally aspirated, very analogue), a surefire classic and completely useable day to day.

Those were US conversions. Thankfully, Ferrari Classiche has restored at least one example (formerly owned by Steve McQueen, I believe) to hardtop configuration.

My top three or four have already been chosen, so I'd go for this. I don't care if the chassis has the rigidity of a piece of spaghetti - I think it is gorgeous.

I drove a 66 GTB hardtop in a 6 hour race at Surfers Paradise.

It was without doubt the worst car I ever drove on a race track, & I did once race a Hillman Imp in the Bathurst 500.

That's odd, as the GTB hardtop is generally reckoned to be (even by modern standards) an excellent sports-car, with agile handling, transaxle gearbox and that 330bhp V12...

Have just made this decision and this was the result. I have always wanted one, totally practical for a chap with no off street parking, two very stupid dogs who adore mud, a limited bank balance (now severely reduced after an £11000 service!) and an aversion to petrol stations.

I love it!

Best-sounding F1 engine in history? Not even close. Bland V10. The early 90s Ferrari V12 was much more exciting, as were the old pre-turbo-era Ferrari and Weslake (Gurney Eagle, BRM, Matra) V12s, the BRM V16 and the Maserati 250F...

An aversion to petrol stations? You'll be visiting a lot of them! Dogs? You need an estate or 4x4! Personally, I loved this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLd6oxwYfw4 - straight pipes, big wing, big diffuser. Sadly, it appears it no longer exists, or may have been exported.

430 challenge. I'd probably remove the roll cage to make it a bit easier to live with. I know that's not very pistonheads :-)
