Not the best looking car but ever since playing top trumps as a kid I've wanted one of these.
Lister storm v12, released in 1993, 7 litre v12, 4 seater with 546bhp and 580lb/ft, 0-60 4.1 secs and over 200mph. Very rare car.

I'm lucky enough to have just bought my one car for every occasion/does all car:

RS6 in mugello blue and tweaked to just shy of 700bhp. Incredibly comfy seats, docile at low speeds, easy cruiser and absolute missile when you stomp on the noisy pedal!

Can't really fault the car in any way (as long as I don't look at the fuel gauge too often!)

Obviously the F1.

Room for three. So good for the school run, shopping with the wife or a trip to a motorsports event with mates.
Consistent driving position in the UK or abroad and unique.
Enough luggage for a week or a tent & beer for Le Mans.
Fast enough to put 99.9% of modern cars to bed.
Still turning heads now but for precisely the right reasons. Enginerring brilliance and understated looks, not the reverse.
The gold is on the inside not the outside.
Wiped the floor with all comers in 1995, so pedigree too.
Very unlikely to loose money on it.
If you prang it, it can be repaired properly.

I don’t know anyone who would describe the Alfa Romeo 8C as anything short of sensational to look at.

Saw this at FoS some years ago, massively impressive. Not one for cruising around town unnoticed, but heyho, I'll take the chance, as far as I know I will only live once...

Not sure the owner of this particular F40 would let me have this one but a black F40 would be my wish

4 pages of impractical exotica (however desirable) and nobody has mentioned this?

If there's a better, more handsome all-round load-lugging mud-plugging waftmobile, I can't think of one. If possible, I'll have a late-model 5-litre supercharged with the bodykit of a standard early example (preferably a TD6, don't want to break 4.4s), for the ultimate in subtlety. Somehow, the L405 just doesn't measure up looks-wise, even if it's technically superior - and the L322 still has the chunky glove-friendly ergonomics I look for, not a bloody touchscreen. L322 also has far better visibility than just about any other car produced in the 21st century...

If I could live without the estate-car practicality and off-road ability, but still needed four seats, I'd have a Bentley Arnage - the original bespectacled headlights and a 6.75 litre engine, please. Dark green, red or blue. But, I think the L322 would win out. The Bentley would be the second car in the garage, and an early DB9 the third.

Hmm , narrowed it down to two cars and seeing as someone's already picked the 917 , it has to be this....

Agreed

But for where I live and what I do, it'd have to be one of these:

One car that you have to nip to the shops in, or go to work in, or take your grandma to the doctors, or go on holiday? One car to do all that and people choose and old Lambo? I'll keep my Jazz thanks if it has to be just one car.
Come on! don't spoil the thread! biglaugh

Range Rover SVR. Big,Fast,Comfy, and practical in as much as it has usable power no matter what the weather, and could probably do some light off road.
