What did they do for £11,000?
Everything I think! All new front suspension (active ride struts, springs, bushes, top mounts link cables compliance bushes - the lot!)
Brakes: new pads (big disc model) pump, accumulators, full hydraulic service.
Rear suspension: spring pan (slightly rusty) spheres.
Steering rack (leaking)
Thermostat and all sensors, coolant flush and refill.
Alarm.
Central locking.
Cleaned everything underneath and then re-rustproofed everywhere (you know how these old girls like to corrode!)
Full engine service.
Gearbox service.
One seat ecu.
I think that's the main bits. Loads more bits and pieces they did and they stopped charging me labour after a certain point: just charged me two hours labour for all the little bits and pieces (one horn not working, new wipers/arms, stereo malfunction - hours and hours spent on that! straightened all the jacking points as they were bent, changed a hinge on the bootlid, so many little niggles - oh yes, new number plates....) the list of faults I'd found were horrendous, and then they fond more!
Worth it? Well, it drives like a new car now. It was bought having had little use for years (100-150 mikes per year) and belonged to one of those chaps that thinks that little mileage requires little maintenance! All the little jobs had been allowed to add up and a few big ones (the front suspension - £4.5 K alone!).
However, this is my dream car, always wanted one so to get it right at the start was the only way to go for me.

If it was £370,000 cheaper it'd be well in budget. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
