If anyone here is on Twitter (I'm not) they might like to bring this to the attention of Henry Faure Walker @FaureWalker, CEO of Newsquest who own the paper in question. As CEO of a large publishing firm I suspect he doesn't drive a Trabant or live in a council flat so I wonder how he feels about one of his employees urging the public to vandalise pricey cars.rohrl said:

It's almost enough to make me sign up so I can reply to the drivel, but I'm aware that the whole point of it is clickbait.
I think what we've all missed is that the article is under the "Opinion" section of the newspaper. Catriona Stewart is entitled to her opinion, but she should aslo be responsible for her opinion if it incites others to do the same.
My "opinion" is that Ms Stewart has a well paid job and probably lives in a nice apartment/house. Be a real shame if someone smashed her windows because people in nice houses are exercising conspicuous consumption - but it would of course be wrong of me to say that.
Ms Stewarts comments are pretty low level and is something as a Society that we have to get used to as it will only get worse. Most of her generation think they have a valid voice through columns, twitter and facebook but have little idea of any privilege or responsibility with those channels.
