Horrible thing to do (it's happened to me a few times) but....an Aston gets newspaper coverage and the Met Police involved, whereas myself, the cops couldn't give a st, even when I had my car broken into.

A very tiered society we live in.
Well, its a good news story and will get worldwide coverage. Massively expensive car, senseless damage - but - culprit caught red handed. On fantastic hi-res video. Surely if you had undeniable proof of an offence police would take action, no?
Maybe, but is that also their job? My belief is that some ppl are so brazen because the Police don't attend these crimes (car break ins) that usual precautions aren't taken (no gloves thus leaving fingerprints) and the Police don;t build up a pattern or trend they could be using to stop them.

I still believe it's our belief that money makes you more important that's why this is in the news and nothing about how many cars are vandalised across the whole in the UK.

Also, notice how every time a Ferrari/Lambo/exotica is crashed it's in the news? Why? It's just a car at the end of the day, why does it warrant media coverage?

Well, as someone replied on another forum, that could easily be repaired for less than £20 for a touch up pen at Halfords!!!

I'll say the same thing here that I did on facebook when the met police shared the vid.

Now I'm playing devil's advocate here. Judging by the fact the guy could easily push the buggy between the Aston and the next car over. That could have been parked in a parent+child space and that could also explain why the dad felt the need to key it.

Now I definitely don't condone the damage and the guy is a thunderc**t regardless. I'm purely saying that was probably the motive.

I await somone pointing out that the Aston driver could have had a child and therefore every right to use the space, but the guy with the buggy wouldn't have known that.
Jesus wept.
Indeed one of the most pathetic things I have read.
It beggars belief that someone who condemns the action of the keyer, then goes onto offer some kind of justification for the keyers actions.

The keyer and the offering of a justification for the keyers actions, sums up what is so very wrong with a lot of what people think and accept in today's society.

What has the UK become/becoming, it's quite frightening to think where it will all end.
yes Someone linked to a DM story a few weeks back where someone got their car keyed for some reason or another. They ran a reader vote on whether it was justified or not and it ended up with something like 35% of the readers said the keying was justified. frown

And other things. In my neck of the woods, a university lecturer was caught on camera. The reason? He had to step onto the road to walk around the offending car on his way home every night.

Woah there. Hold on a second.

I was NOT offering justification for the the actions!!

I was ONLY giving a reason why the "keyer" may have chosen to damage the Aston on this occasion, based on my experience of the kind of bellends around.

Two totally different things IMO!

Is truly disgusting what he did to the Aston Martin, and though the video quality wasn't that great, I have a feeling that someone will recognise this guy and perhaps post his name and address online, so that he can be dealt with in an appropriate manner without wasting taxpayer money with petty police and court officialdom.

I knew a really decent lad at college many years ago who was built like a brick sthouse, extremely intelligent and very easy going and would help out anyone in class, except for one day when he caught some idiot trying to hot-wire his motorcycle in the car-park, so with a tap on the shoulder, a swift knee in the nuts (to bring him down to size), followed by a nice hard right-hander to the nose, he dealt with the issue there-and-then, he then reminded said idiot that if he went crying to the police, the job would be finished off at a later date. Needless to say, said thief hobbled off holding onto his precious nuts, broken nose and blood dripping everywhere, and was never seen again.

Is called R E S P E C T.

Kids are carrying guns and knives in hackney on a daily basis, but everyone is going mad about a car being damaged just because it was expensive and caught on video.

Unfortunately the police won't intervene in this situation because it involves guns, knives and kids, so will be classed as 'dangerous' and they don't do danger anymore which is pretty pathetic. In the olden day the police were out walking on the streets talking to the locals, learning who the villains were, and genuinely out there to catch the burglars, nowadays they are there to justify their existence huddled behind their CCTV cameras in air-conditioned rooms and targeting long dead pervs, rather than actually stopping actual crimes. They now seem far more content with recording events after they have happened, rather than preventing them from happening in the first place.

We tend to forget that the modern day police force seems to exist to boost it's government funding, rather than to actually reduce and prevent crime.

I was just about to congratulate the forum for not descending into a racist tirade......yet again.

Tell me I'm wrong about you.
As soon as I saw the video I knew it was only a matter of time. There's a lot of racist people on this forum, not the first time I've eered it and not the last.

The fella doesn't look like a total scrote - not a hoodie. Looks clean and presented. Expensive pram. - I reckon he probably has a proper job. May have a house as suggested.
I thought that. Looks like the sort of bloke that might work hard to aspire to buy an Aston one day.

Can this be "shared" via face book etc. I bet he has something to lose - social ostracisation, possibly even his job? Get his face out there get him identified. Like previous episodes of cycle road rage etc.

Like attracts like.
I suspect any in his social circle will probably regard him as a wronged hero or something. rolleyes

You need to get with the times. Todays "unemployed" will only use a designer pram/ push chair, dress in designer sports wear and will typically have a gym membership. I would hazard a guess he is not in gainful employment.

For some reason I always imagine that it's kids or chav teenagers that key cars. Quite surprised it's a Dad caught doing this.

Could it be that he was parked in a parents with children or a disabled bay and this hacked off this guy? Still no reason for his behavior but just wondered..........
