According to the ad on Car and Classic ...

Price: £124,875 + VAT = £149,850

They don't appeal to me at all but if they did for that money I'd want a standard Testarossa with Ferrari Classiche certification.

Berlinetta Boxer/BB 512?

Not a boxer engine strictly speaking, despite the name.

Ahhh, 1000sel. So many 80's OTT cars. One of my guilty pleasures
I'd never want one but I can't help being drawn to such outrageousness paperbag

If any of the performance figures quoted in that very interesting read are even remotely credible, I imagine that even the world's greatest drivers would struggle to control its performance. For someone like me, a drive would likely be over in a few minutes, and would result in at least serious injury. Would probably still be the best drive of my life though!

A lot. At that age you're less concerned about what other people think and just go with what you like. If you think it's cool, it's cool. And it still is if you ask me:

Without looking at the interior, I'd think that was a Toyota MR-2 underneath if I saw it driving by.

I totally get and quietly covet the likes of Koenig and can agree with the above post on 1000sel.com...total time sponge.

But this yellow abomination...you would get sick of people asking whether it's a kit car/fake F40.

As the owner of a lairy 80's bodykit, I speak from much frustrated experience. It's either that or "I've always loved Lamborghinis" LOL!

But at least it's a noisy, speedy, ferocious monster on the track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUPBPfIIcEo

Or not.

I love a good lairy 80s bodykit but this is not that.

Remember there was a scene in the Simpsons where Homer's telling Lisa a bedtime story or somesuch, and it features what appears to be an F40 convertible. I thought to myself at the time "Silly, there's no such thing as an F40 convertible!" More recently I realised it can only have been a Koenig 348 TS. Were the animators really that geeky or is it just coincidence?
Oooh, did they to a targa version of the F48?

Looks like it! smile

I loved what they did with the side strake removal. I thought it made the car look less fussy, and somehow smaller.

I fell in love with the Koenig Testarossa (tin top) because of this book:

biggrin
I had that Book too with the barking mad Sbarro's et al.

The Koenig Testorossa I mentioned above ex-Middlesbrough was definitely a Twin Turbo FYI
Wonderful book; one which I will never part with.

Now you've got me looking on Amazon! There's an updated 1988 edition to your 1986. Anyone know which is better? Maybe I should stop being tight and buy both!!!

I really like the look of that, especially the wide back side. But, for that sort of money, perhaps not.

It's a LHD messed-about-with Testarossa.

Not a good example of not a very good Ferrari - Gordon Murray described the Testarossa as "dreadful", having a centre of gravity "the same as a double decker bus".

It is being sold by a car trader not a recognised Ferrari specialist.

This should have been titled " Koenig Testarossa: You Know You Shouldn't " ...

If that's as a percentage of its height, that is very, very good ...
