It's a LHD messed-about-with Testarossa.

This should have been titled " Koenig Testarossa: You Know You Shouldn't " ...
It's a funny one and I'm not convinced it can really be described as a Koenig. The rear wing may be a Koenig part but the other changes are just normal aftermarket work that I doubt went anywhere near mad Willy.

Yeah i would, it looks fantastic and not as extremely-styled as other Koenig Special's. Though i'd want to restore the two-tone black bodywork as all red Ferrari's look better with it. Example:

Now you've got me looking on Amazon! There's an updated 1988 edition to your 1986. Anyone know which is better? Maybe I should stop being tight and buy both!!!
My copy is an '87 reprint of the '86 original. No dust jacket though.

I'm going to go full wheel geek, but...
Those BBS LMs, which are branded BBS on the lips by someone, and claimed to be BBS LMs, aren't.

They're Work VSXX.
Equally wonderful and expensive wheels, and quite why they're be rebranded as BBS is beyond me!
That's Hawking like car geekery, I salute you. smile

I disagree, when they're black it just looks like he's had to have the sills welded.

Have to agree with iloveboost: To Me the black lower sections always look as if it's a cheaper "base" model! - The colour coded lower sections look far better!

(The funny thing is, if the Testarossa is painted using the same procedure as the 348's were, then the lower panels were actually painted body colour first and then a layer of black paint was added on top! Later on Ferrari decided to forget the second coat of black paint, updating the look and saving money/time in the manufacturing process in a single stroke!)

Are those really 1980s wheels? Or is this just another perfectly good car ruined by Khant Design?

FWIW I wish every 348 that started with the black bottom still had it. I can understand the base model/MR2 rip off connotations off it all but I think colour coded makes them look a bit tackier.

Same with Testarossas though this example has extra tackiness.

Also with those that don't believe it's a Koenig car whatsoever.

Finally allowed to post as a newbie!
I have been watching the Japanese auction scene for a while.
This thread, which I started on Ferrarichat, will give you a fascinating insight into certain aspects of the used car trade

The interior is even better!!!

Call me a cynic, but that is a serious profit margin!!

This car actually made about £30000 when it went through the Japanese auction house. Odd because it was unsold for less on two previous occasions.

Draw your own conclusions to its actual worth here in the UK .....

Knew they weren't LMs as soon as they said they were. Iconic Work lip style is the main giveaway.

Japanese wheels on a Ferrari is even more perfect IMO.
