I am with Competition Car Insurance and my renewal is £320.00 for a car with agreed value over £50K.
Excess is now £1000 for 4000 miles/annum and includes 5 track days with additional £1000 excess. Also includes travel in Europe.

I get close to the 4000 miles and travel abroad in her. Have done track days in the past too, so find it good value.

Any recommendations on US insurance? I'm familiar with most of the specialty insurers offering agreed value coverage of the Ultima, but which is the best?

I have an idea that CCI can reduce the premium if you relinquish the track day insurance and keep the value below 50K.
I had mine in at £49995 and it made a BIG difference.

Just been to the Classic Car Show in Manchester. Had an insurance quote from Footman James. I originally went to them last year as I had a Radical insured with them but they had stopped doing kit car insurance due to the company they partner with refusing to cover them. They now have a new partner and are quoting kit cars again. The quite was seriously competitive. I won't mention figures as these will change depending on age and circumstances. Just say that the quote was 60% of my previous insurance.

Just to second this. I was going through my renewal process this week and had a quote from Footman James which, as Roj says, was so seriously competitive that I had to go back through it all checking that all the details were correct. Everyone else was broadly similar on price and nobody was particularly expensive, but it is Footman James for me.

For US owners:

Which insurance company is currently offering the best agreed value policies for our cars? Leland, Hagerty, Grundy - or somewhere else?

Hi Ken

Try Midwest Classic/ Infinity 888-271-4000
in Illinois
Many of the company's you mentioned would not insure my Cobra "Too Highly Modified' they said
Been w/ (I think Terry) for many years. They also put a high value on her, and no one has complained when claims were made out to the group I know.

My renewal time. existing provider wanted £797, sightly but not hugely up on last year. This includes 5 track days, £750 xs, car value £65,000.

Footman James just quoted me £382 - xs of £500. No track days, £60 per day as and when I need it.

I am very happy!!!

Hi Guys - I thought I would put my oar in. My Can Am is being completed by the factory as we speak (officially will be the the last factory built Can Am - old spec of course) and I should have it soon so decided to start ringing around for insurance quotes. The Adrian Flux quote on the phone I thought must be for my 20 year old son or they were having a laugh.... £1297 with 3000 miles and NO track days. I am 57 with 3 other cars and a clean license, no accidents for 10+ years and no DVLA medical issues.... I challenged this and was told as it was a new car to me - no one would insure me for less but it may be a "bit" cheaper in 12 months... As someone who has owned and driven a variety of vehicles including E30 M3 (wish I had kept it but wife was terrified in passenger seat...)Alpina B3 etc... MK1 Golf GTI when a young lad (should have kept that one as well!!!).... anyway... I thought this was bo**ocks. For some reason they also asked if the car had been adapted for disabled use...and did it have a steering wheel or handlebars...

Quote from Footman James online... £421 with guaranteed value...same cover that apparently I would not get anywhere (according to AF)... I wonder who I will be ringing when the car is ready for collection? Guesses on a postcard....

Nice one Bob. Good to see you on here and hearing about your build. All I can say if you wife was scared in an M3 you will need to blindfold her and take away her senses when you take her out in the Ultima. Let us know how your first drive goes

My wife hated my Saphire Cosworth, she said it made her feel sick. When I told her, 17 years ago, that I fancied building an Ultima, she said I could as long as I sold the Cosworth. It was sold the following day and my Ultima is 16 years old this year!
