Always carried a few bits in all of my cars.
Saab:
Jump Leads
cable ties (300mm)
electrical tape
spanner and box wrench for removing cycle rack
latex gloves
spare oil
hi viz vest
Standard tool kit
Land Rover:
Wheel brace with appropriate socket
Fire extinguisher (It once set light to its self in the MOT bay!)
gaffer tale
electrical tape
cable ties
Bottle Jack
Jacking blocks
torch
latex gloves
Recover strop
A few screwdrivers
Two spanners (to remove the bolts for the tow bar)
I keep meaning to add to the kit in the land rover, but despite it being a commercial varient, there are next to no cubby holes to store stuff in a series LR. All those bits are dotted about the cab. I'll eventually move the wheel brace to the rear door on tool clips. However, a puncture is the least of your problems with a series LR. Other bits are bound to break!
Extendable wheel brace and socket
Jump Leads
Torch
If none of the above get me going again I have my breakdown card. I don't see the point in carrying enough kit to survive a Zombie Apocalypse because A) Im not driving in the Australian outback and B) If the above cant get me going then that's why I pay for a breakdown subscription.

There have been a lot of resonses so far and, unless I've missd them, only ONE poster carries a first aid kit!
My phone has the internet, providing they don't die too quickly and I've got signal I can probably find a youtube video to help them, or post to Facebook etc. Much better than your box of out-of-date plasters.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
