I caught up with the last V8 Supercars & couldn't believe he was stopping his tyres from overheating by putting two wheels on the wet grass down the main straight!!!! Crazy but how much skill.

His dad Robert was no slouch either.
Used to watch Robert rallying back in the 80s.

I know I couldn't believe it when he did the drivers side to I had to rewind it twice just to take it in he was millimeters from having a big off, to hear Crompo & the other speechless tells you all you need to know how ballsy that was.

I'd love to see him at ROC

Good clip of his Dad in action here (admittedly getting it a bit wrong).

When he did it the first time I thought he had a mechanical problem as I was watching it live then realised what he was upto.
In the grass and not lifting is commitment !

Funny seeing my photos pop up in unexpected places! I guess thats why I put watermarks on public albums...

I think that photo was earlier on the same stage, a few minutes before the video starts.

Haven't seen much of the V8 supertaxis lately (they aren't on free tv in NZ anymore), but Shane is certainly a very talented driver.
