Trouble is Croyde, that Surrey is full of thieving bds. Have you tried explaining to the insurers that the locals' penchant for tax evasion and market manipulation in the City shouldn't really impact car insurance? biggrin

To say I'm surprised by my rating is an understatement

I live in a really nice area but rated D*. I know of some iffy areas in my postcode 5 or 6 miles away.

I live only a few yards away from a A rated postcode. I also know that contains some iffy areas too

I suspect the full postcode is used not just the first part

I'm in the same position. I live in a really nice area and we're a "D". I'm moving to a new build soon and the town I'm moving to is an "E". Both towns have some great areas and the odd dodgy estate but I'm hoping there's more to it than a blanket "you're an E" as I'm moving to a quiet and nice part of town.
