Only on PH could the illegal ttish actions of tts on bikes be considered appropriate and the OP be the one guilty.
Deliberately placing themselves in front of moving cars while remaining stationary, breaking road traffic laws and generally having a sense of entitlement. Only on PH could the minority see this as justified.
If it was cars and motorbikes as opposed to motorbikes and push bikes would you view it the same. I don't automatically steteotype/judge based on chosen mode of transport. Deliberately placing themselves in front of moving cars while remaining stationary, breaking road traffic laws and generally having a sense of entitlement. Only on PH could the minority see this as justified.
But if someone posts a thread on a discussion forum and I think they're in the wrong too, I'm going to say so.
every last Friday of the month I do not recall seeing monthly critical mass car meets driving through London, and if there were, I am 100% sure that the police would deem it illegal. Chris in many cities they have deemed it illegal to meet up and park in car parks, being stationary and bothering no one, so why do the participants of critical mass get away with it?
Anyone with an ounce of sense can see that this practice is wrong.

I cycle a lot. I also tax my 4.4L V8 petrol powered car.
I will add I don't cycle like those tts described above. I do get fed up with people of pistonheads tarring all cyclists with the same brush though.

Being serious, herein lies the problem. The actions of some cyclists could seriously impact others. OP could now have a negative opinion of cyclists and doesn't see fit to provide them with space when overtaking because the memory of the critical mass is still fresh in his mind.
But how many of us witness some crappy driving and then immediately turn against ALL other motorists refusing to give them space or deliberately cutting them up. Doesn't happen and nor should the logic apply to cyclists, pedestrians etc etc.

Thinking back to the number of times I've seen motorcyclists riding badly, if I allowed their actions to colour my views of all motorcyclists or motorcycling in general I suppose I would also post silly comments about not caring if they ended up under the wheels of a lorry.

I don't disagree but that's restricting the behaviour to certain marques not all drivers. Everywhere you look on PH it s "cyclists" not people on particular brands.
If you're in a car and a cyclist cuts you up you'll think fking cyclist wkerIf you're on a bike and a car cuts you up you think fking car driving wker
If your in a car and a car cuts you up you'll think fking "insert brand" wker
If your on a bike and bike pissed you off you'll think fking "insert type / brand" wker

Critical Mass. A mixture of soap-dodging anarchists who latch onto any opportunity to be a , trustafarians, and idiots. They've held me up when I've been trying to get home on my, err, road bike. Do they give a st? No.
They are not "cyclists". They are aholes who happen to own bikes. I wouldn't judge all cyclists by their actions any more than I'd judge all motorcyclists by the behaviour of tts who ride around on stolen mopeds.
This - along with those pointless and irritating 'die ins' eurgh, get out of the way so I can ride through. They are not "cyclists". They are aholes who happen to own bikes. I've heard of Critical Mass but didn't know when it happens, but I suppose in hindsight, I saw it a few months back on a Friday, it was a bit mad, but as said very few of the people I saw looked like 'cyclists' many hipster types and just generally hippes who were playing music from their bikes. I think the whole thing is a joke too.
I commute into London by bike and have done for over 5 years now, I wouldn't dream of joining a die in, or an event like this, totally ridiculous.

I can't decide of it's funny or depressing.Deliberately placing themselves in front of moving cars while remaining stationary, breaking road traffic laws and generally having a sense of entitlement. Only on PH could the minority see this as justified.
Bunch of idiots going looking for trouble, they find it. No sympathy from me and I genuinely wouldn't care if someone did the same as that Brazilian driver, in fact it will likely happen at some point either on purpose or because some old dear has been scared by it and panics.
OP, I think you did a great job and reacted better than I would have so well done!
Just a heads up though, many people think the exact same about motorbikers thinking they're Rossi when they need to get collected in small bits when they run out of talent on a b road somewhere. As per all of these threads, the actions of a few are not indicative of 'all'.

Well that's a fairly bigoted and moronic viewpoint, since I'm a cyclist and had nothing to do with what you saw.Should I blame you and call you a tt because I saw someone riding a moped like a bellend this morning?
