I can't decide of it's funny or depressing.

Bunch of idiots going looking for trouble, they find it. No sympathy from me and I genuinely wouldn't care if someone did the same as that Brazilian driver, in fact it will likely happen at some point either on purpose or because some old dear has been scared by it and panics.

OP, I think you did a great job and reacted better than I would have so well done!
This will happen sooner or later with Critical Mass. There are plenty of Company Directors, Chavs, Psychopaths, Bruvs and more driving in London. Whilst most of us will be pished off there are plenty that will go further or carry knives as routine. A small knock on a prized car by a careless CM cyclist is all it takes for them to be lying on the road with a stab wound.

I did wonder what this was. I see them cycling through Islington a while back stopping at lights and blocking filter lanes/junctions etc whilst arguing with the drivers.

Wow.

I couldn't agree more with the OP here.

Each and every tt in that video deserves a hiding.
More "Critical Mass" bks

this time attacking a police officer

I bet they found it empowering ganging up on those police officers. The detestable cowards need to be thrown under a steamroller.

It is a illegal to ride a bike under the influence so you could have reported it. Make sure they bring enough to breathalyse them all.

Tow a wood chipper that's switched on around London braking sharply anytime on of these nobs gets too close.

Living near Stratford, every year when Bulldog bash was running.

Unless you count the "security" they had, which resulted in someone being shot and the whole thing being canceled.

Or the hundreds of knoblers I see riding round at a gazzilion miles an hour in the Cotswolds every weekend.

I would not expected to be judged on the basis of those power rangers when I'm on my motorbike any more than I would expect to be judged on the actions of these guys, or people to judge all drivers on the basis of a bunch of tts doing burn outs in Mc'ds car park on a Friday night.

Well that's a fairly bigoted and moronic viewpoint, since I'm a cyclist and had nothing to do with what you saw.

Should I blame you and call you a tt because I saw someone riding a moped like a bellend this morning?
OP did not say he was riding a moped so why would you compare him to one. Everyone knows 'pedders are just lazy cyclists.

smile
Most cyclists don't take part in critical mass either, doesn't stop people tarring all cyclists with the same brush.

Just re-read what you've written, and imagine you were the sort of cyclist who would never get involved in critical mass events. Imagine reading that someone would like to see you dead because of someone else's actions.

Can you see why your sentiments don't come across well?

If those are your actual thoughts, then you need some help.

To be honest, if there is one thing that would annoy me more than a critical mass, it's dicks standing in the road filming chavs in modified datsuns around London trying to capture the moment flames pop out of the exhaust just to put the footage on youtube...

You can't really blame all cyclists, this event is just organized by professional agitators/anarchists being selfish prats.

Talking of tarring with brush
Is it just a few people at this event that are troublesome or is it the whole thing?

I'd go with the whole thing, no details of the planned route released beforehand so no chance to avoid it, they favour "Corking" that is blocking side roads to allow the main body to ride unimpeded by traffic, go through red lights, stop and lift their bikes in the air, you could see that at Picadilly circus swamped by them not going anywhere etc.

The fact that so many people are calling you or on this might suggest that the tone of your post is a little unsavoury.

If you want to write bigoted st and then shurg it off as 'tongue in check', then go ahead, but it makes you look a bit thick to me.

The clue is in the name Critical Mass, do you think the intention is to grind the roads to a halt and cause total frustration - generally be antisocial and stick 2 fingers up to the law - by hiding in a mob, or to have a pleasant cycle ride out with a few mates like they say. Would you innocently attend an event called 'Loot and Burn Tescos'?

There's a sub-forum on MSE called "Praise, Vent & Warnings" where you can post:

VENT: That's it, I'm f**king done with cyclists...

People will see it as just letting off some steam.

Yet on PH we aren't allowed to do that as Cycling is a protected can-do-no-wrong term.

Are you on crack?

There are more threads slating cyclists on here than anything else. AND even when the cyclist has done nothing wrong the lowlife types on this forum still find a way to blame them, even if they end up dead.

You're obviously easily wound up. I can see why the cyclists enjoyed messing with you.

I've certainly had a great time.
