Only one solution to that second youtube link where the police are trying to arrest one : Water cannons. Blast the lot of them down the road, which would not only clear the junction but also give some of them the wash they're so badly missing.

Either that, or we find that Irish boxer and put him in charge of keeping the road clear.

I thought protests had to be agreed in advance with plod, but I recall a group trying to argue it was a spontaneous event, and not at all organised in any way...

I feel for Op, I think most people would have seen red, and some would react more dangerously. Of couse, being typical leftie hypocrits, they demand protection of the law (helmet cam sherrifs) whilst ignoring it themselves.

Motor vehicles are always going to lose in these situations as you've got a license plate that can be caught on cctv, whereas they have anonymity of a group.

Best thing to do would be to pull over for a bit, or just divert right around them.

OP, what a nightmare. Now let's park the fact that I see maybe one motor cyclist in 1000 a month riding safely (maybe that's you smile ) as your post is about your recent experience. The best thing you could have done is get off of that route asap. I realise there aren't many side roads there but there are a couple of ways out.

Most bike cyclists I see don't seem to realise that their lives are in imminent danger of cessation - complete idiots. And you all know it which makes you top idiots of all time.

These people are not 'cyclists' they sound like a bunch of pissed up / stoned hippies that have used bikes to create some kind of scene / excuse for tarting around.

Could only happen in London, no other place has such a concentration of total yuppie turds.

As they stopped the traffic at the junction of the embankment and Westminster Bridge and poured through the red lights a cycle commuter was waiting at the said lights and shaking his head.

The rest of them didn't look like your normal cyclist just hundreds of pissed up hippies and anarchist types.

Still can't believe that I didn't see any police about.

Plenty earlier giving out free MOTs to bikers as I made my way into work.

I ride a bike but dont do that, dont lump that lot in with your average commuter, will be the same number who smash the place up to protest, just aholes that like to cause agro, losing completely their original message and any sympathy they have had.

Funny I thought that too. Why is it lefties (and I include cyclists as a generic term there) think that whatever they want to do or think is always more important than everyone else?!?!

I was going to guess at a critical mass event thing.

I ride a bike every single day. I don't see the point of going out on mass to cause disruption.

Hmm.. I was quite surprised at some of the comments on the first page! There is surely only one side to be on here!

Just had a look at that. Amazing how many haven't even adjusted the bike so it fits them properly! And using the instep on the pedal, effictively wasting 50% of the power of their legs. Idiots.

I've been in London since 1986. I've never heard of it before reading this thread. I'm not sure if I'd have been so calm about it.

Well done for not ttting one of them

So to summarise, everyone thinks they are dicks, no one agrees with their actions and the world stops turning due to PH agreeing on something...

Duh... Because that route is heavily congested, and will take ages to get to where you want to be...

It doesn't matter why it's congested. Unless, of course, you want to try to make some kind of point about it - which puts you into the same category of self-important "special" numpty as critical mess.

If the road was full of people on foot, heading to (say) a football match, would you try to push through them, too?
