I like how you edited the post, as if there were some level of quality you were hoping to reach.

I would not have a problem with cyclists if they even made the slightest attemtp at following the highway code, sadly most don't in my experience which is a shame.

Riding ore thn two a breast is exactly the kind of behaviour that turns people against them.

I've certainly never seen cars and/or motorbikes filling every available lane, let alone every available space. When was the last time I was held up by a car and/or motorbrike? Can't even think. Probably never.

I take it back.

I said I took it back, and provided my reasoning. Take it or leave it!

The first Critical Mass in London started in '94 and has run on the same Friday each month pretty much every month since then

You must be about the only person in London who hasn't come across it or isn't aware of it (and so tries to avoid it)

I only worked in London for a couple of years, and even tho I never cycled nor commuted into London by car or motorcycle, I still knew it was going on and made a mental note of when it was expected

Doesn't excuse the attitude of some, but isn't planning your journey and being aware of planned events that might obstruct your route part of being a responsible road user?

It's a 'planned event' to the extent that it's listed on the LCC website along with all the other planned cycling events

http://lcc.org.uk/events/critical-mass-ride-london...

There was a big thing about it in June after that lassie was killed by a truck turning left

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/bank-junctio...

and it's been covered in the national press on other occasions

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/bike-blog/2...

It's not just London, it happens in many cities around the world, it hit social media when a video went viral of a car ramming a group of Critical Mass cyclists in Brazil last year

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnR2ysyaoH4

I think you've just had your head in the sand of been incredibly unlucky in your exposure to the media in the last 20 years to have missed it

Just respond in kind, organise hundreds of car drivers for a drink-drive convoy on the same day...

There was clearly a protest going on. Why not just go somewhere else instead? In an urban location there's normally more than one route.

The cyclists (helmet cammers, quelle surprise) seem to take a surprising amount of glee in holding up the traffic, laughing at them, and turning around to have another pop at blocking side roads etc.

What a bunch of tossers.

Wow, I thought you were over reacting a bit until I looked up critical mass cycling, fking aholes. Reading this is enough to make this piss boil especially the st about "corking" where they block the traffic so they may run as many red lights as they want etc... s.

I got caught in this last night on my way through Westminster heading home from work.

Traffic was gridlocked but thankfully I was on my new to me Vespa 300.

I'm in my 50s and have lived, worked and driven, cycled and ridden in London all my life and have never come across this before.

There were a lot of fekin idiots and soap dodgers using their mass to block the traffic in every direction. No sign of the police anywhere.

One tt covered in day glo lights tried to physically stop me but I rode at him and just couriered my way through the lot of them.

No hindrance to me but I'd be surprised that their antics didn't get someone hurt.

If I had been in my car I would have been livid.
