When you see threads like this one, it's easy to think that. Some of the responses spouted are really, really stupid.

The OP came across a load of militant idiots on bicycles and decided that, based on this one encounter, he has had enough with cyclists in general.

The comments about cyclists being injured are quite bizarre.
.

There does appear to be some trouble during some of the CM rides and the OP almost had some.

If people really wanted to injure cyclists while driving it wouldn't be hard, sometimes the cyclist is at fault sometimes the driver. I believe the stats are about 60/40 with the motorist being the 60.

All road users need to be considerate to each other. There will always be knobs on the road.

I am an occasional cyclist. But I hate cyclists in London.
I was there two days on the weekend and I nearly got hit 3 times because they didn't stop at a red light and I couldn't hear them coming.

I was furious.

I cycled last night and got a puncture in the pissing rain. Twice.

Does that help?

Us cyclists have just as much, if not more entitlement to use the roads than you.
How have you come to the conclusion that you have more entitlement to use the roads ?

Drivers are there by revocable license. Cyclists are there by right. Got it?
So you are saying that you don't have anymore entitlement to use the road than someone with a valid driving licence.

Got it !

We yes we do! Cyclists are met contributors. Motorists are vastly over subsidized by the taxpayer.
Well, make sure you tell other road users this when you use the roads.

No. You are there by choice. What the fk is wrong with people, jeez.
Exactly, Cycling Mikey appears to be the cycling version of "You don't pay road tax"

No doubt we will get the " There is no such thing as road tax" rolleyes

Er because there is no such thing? You pay VED. You pay to pollute. Not an access fee to use the roads.
Thank you for proving my point.

That does not sound like someone "seeing things from both sides".
But Mikey likes to be as close to exhaust pipes as possible.

It really can't be the best place to be, I hope he wears a mask?

Mikey is happy to contribute towards polution himself with his car but wants other people to stop while he is on his bike.

If a journey is cycleable, why shouldn't people do their bit? I only use my car on longish distance journeys. Sensible
I do the same myself. Some people are lazy but who am I to to tell them what they can and can't do ?

Call me crazy, but cyclists don't tend to risk my life, when I'm driving...
You really are starting to sound like a st driver who doesn't care about cyclists safety.

I'm sure there will be a YouTube video showing what a victim Mikey is.

At least his quotes are here.

Here is a you tube clip as a farewell, enjoy

If he'd joined in to have a sensible discussion I'm sure he would have been quite welcome.
To be honest, I think there would be very little chance of having a sensible discussion with Cycling Mikey. In the limited posts he did make he didn't mention safety, which IMO is the key issue.

The following link shows what can happen when cyclists and motorists have confrontations. The third cyclist up the is the one who gets the brunt of it.

Disgusting behaviour by this X3 driver.
