In almost 25 years I have only owned two brands of car,

3 x Mini - Rover / BL / Austin (what ever they were calling themselves at the time)
3 x Porsche

I addition I have had various company vehicles, and the wife has had cars from various manufacturers that I have helped pay for.

Here’s mine, after 21 years of driving and 17/18 years of owning cars (in alphabetical order):

BL/MG (1)
BMW (5)
Caterham (2)
Citroen (1)
Lotus (2)
Tatuus (1)
Toyota (2)

Number of different marques: 7

Interestingly it’s a broad range of sports/track cars, but for more practical cars with tow bars, roof bars and big boots, BMW seem to be the only company over the last twenty years that have made affordable cars that I enjoy driving, so I’ve racked up 5 of them!

Bit of thread drift but what did you think of the Lexus? Any major issues, or are they generally reliable?

Since 1970:

2 x Austin-1300 and Montego

7 x Ford- Mexicos/XR3/Sierra/Mondeo

4 x BMW - 320ds, well someone has to drive them, I series

So over the 45 years I have kept them on average almost 4 years.

Thanks OP interesting thread.

It was lovely, bought new in 2004, reliable, good quality, excellent dealers, everything standard, no 50 page option brochure here but, boring as hell after a while, chopped it in for a Mondeo ST, dealer thought I was joking at the time!

Thanks, I am half tempted to get one, they look good value at the moment, and much more understated then the Germans. Not worried about boring anymore, just want to waft in comfort wink
