It's the get rid of all the parts time run at the factory. Amazingly I doubt you'd get the Clio much if any cheaper than the prices mentioned, Renaults pricing will never make sense to me...
Best value hatch out there IMO. Much better than a Focus RS in terms of driveability and £15K cheaper, what's not to like? Interior is nicer on the Renault too. And the build quality is probably better! (see my post in the Focus RS vs. Civic thread)
