i picked up my fiesta st this time last week. so just missed out on the 65 plate.
How strange, you collect a fiesta, yet consider a Merc 63 to be an awful POS. I know which I would sooner have.
I don't think he means ALL Merc 63's, just the abomination that is the GLE coupe. Much like the X6M. If I could have any Merc 63 I wouldn't choose the GLE.
I agree, the GLE is an acquired taste, however, I cant see how compared to a Fiesta, it's an awful POS.

Just spotted a neighbour's 65 plate Polo.

Good to see our locality is doing its bit to preserve its executive estate position!

Oi, don't you be letting Mrs Garvin hear you referring to her new Fiesta in such terms . . . . . . she can't wait to get her ST3 run in so she can give it the full beans smile

Thanks mate. Fits the bill perfectly for us and looks a bit more interesting than a 3 series, and a 5 series would be too big. Plus, its a niche car so we'll see a lot less of them on the road.

and to the others who commented on it... glad ya like it.

Its a lovely car mate and I hope you enjoy it. The front is quite well done I must admit, less anodyne than an Audi, less melty than some Merc's.

Not for me though, a few years ago I'd have been happy with one of the German marques, but now I am just indifferent. Nice pieces of engineering though. Could maybe have a Mercedes.... but yeah, ze Germans just not pushing me buttons.

In fact, I am becoming quite apathetic towards most modern cars. I am very interested in the engines and engine technology though (especially what they do with model based engine calibration, but thats my day job so I should hope so!).

Yep just picked ours up. Cooper S convertible in eclipse grey with a modest sprinkling of options. Got a good deal as an in-stock car at month end, and less than a week from deposit to delivery. Going to be a fun car to own I think. If the better half ever lets me near it.

we do...had our new 4 series delivered very kindly by BMW a day before the '65 kicked in on Monday. (For this reason it had to stay on the drive and couldn't be driven till yesterday)

safe to say we love it.

The 4 door version of the 2 door version of the 4 door car, I thought these were a myth.

We have a new Transit and the boss has a new Yugo Cayenne.
Yes indeed haha. Just when a 3 series is just a bit...boring.
Nice car but why im I think that is a street in the welsh valleys.

Had mine delivered yesterday. Diesel Mercedes Benz E220, falls down on the fuel but gains being the AMG Night Edition.

Proberbly a topic for another thread but I am starting to think that cars have too much technology in them these days. Mine has a gadget which we have already termed ''mother' - it warns and beeps when too close to the car in front.

Yes if only you could read the whole post. Just the gle coupe is awful. And I think you will find the fiesta st gets many many many great reviews

getting like Audi now.

Corporate front, corporate rear and then you spec the X,Y,Z dimensions of the amount of car you want in between.
I quite like that description! I've seen your screen name somewhere before too.... Cookies?

I read the whole post and as I agreed earlier, the gle is a strange car indeed and certainly won't be chosen by many. I know I wouldn't particularly fancy one even if I was in a position to be looking at that calibre of car. I also rather like the fiesta, no problem with that. I just think referring to a £100k car as an awful piece of st is a strange turn of phrase. It may well be ugly and not to your liking, but think that it is probably a long way from being a piece of st.

That looks fantastic.
Something about those houses screamed "valleys", then spotted the plate on the golf and realised my friend lived across the road from you.
Small world.

Two highlights from yesterday were a red civic type r near hopwood services on the m42 and a nardo grey rs6 on Bristol road, birmingham.

The civic looked great in red and, as others have said, much nicer in the flesh.

The rs6 just looks so right to my eyes.

Today's best was an sq5. Also saw my first rs3 heading into cambridge, but alas a 15 plate so doesn't count.

I saw a HSS Transit Tipper Van two weeks ago in Cardiff running a 65 Plate!!!. Very shiny and defiantly brand new. Not sure why it was on the road with that plate two weeks early.
