Today I am pondering this one. A bit far for me to go on a wild goose chase though, it's cheap but leggy and has chrome tat all over it.

Any ideas what the device with three switches and a usb socket by the driver's leg is for?
Looks like it might have HK audio and front/rear seat heating.
USB socket thing is a halfords tat addition like the exterior chrome.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-Mercedes-E320-Cdi-A...

Looks like front seats are ventilated and the car has airmatic. You keep finding the mega spec cars!
I'll get there in the end!
Seller comes across as a complete div, but the spec looks great. An hour spent de-tatting would have unearthed a decent car I suspect.
Have we had this?
Three and a half grand Phaeton.

Having done quite a few miles in a 5.0 TDI Phaeton, when they were new, I'm not sure if my abiding impression of this would be 'God, this is impressive', or 'God, this is boring'.Three and a half grand Phaeton.

It's certainly a lot of engineering, and beautifully built, and not at all naff like a few of the other options.
But would you sidle up to a Phaeton owner at a BBQ and say 'go on, tell us a joke'? No, I would not. And I'm quite the sidler.

This, to me, is a MASSIVE bonus. CharlesdeGaulle said:

I have used this garage for work and was impressed, I expect it would be a good one.

Wayne Gates are a great outfit for repairs. Where are the interior pictures for this car?!http://mercsales.co.uk/listings/e-class-320-cdi-av...

'98? That's about as late as the W140 gets - I remember seeing the W220 in Baden-Baden that summer (and thinking it was the most elegant car I had ever seen!)
I also saw the W221 on the Pforzheim/Bad Wildbad road in 2005 I think, pre-release, didn't make anything like the same impression.

I love the Phaeton. Class, style and no shouty badge. Just sold engineering, unlike the usual VW veneer of nonsense draped over an average product. However, those wheels looks fking crap and in bad shape too. Bottom of the market indeed. Three and a half grand Phaeton.

That looks ace. Think it is missing the all important electric rear blind but can't recall the exact position of the button (it was behind the gearlever but can't recall what else was there)Anyone in Manchester / Stockport who could have a look ?

Shhh, this one is in my watch list. Was hoping for a sneaky bargain. I have a W140 S320 that has just started weeping oil from the HG onto the exhaust manifold which is the perfect excuse to change back up to a proper engine again.Only want something comfortable, V8 and disposable for the weekend.

Funny, the blind was something that I was looking for too- it's the Oa effect. On the later cars like this it was on the sloped bit of wood trim leading to the centre arm rest.
The only switch in that position on this particular car is the disable for the parking sensors.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
