Interesting way of looking at it, I'd never looked at it from that point of view. My old E38 7 series was beige everywhere except the headlining and steering wheel and to be honest I wished the top part of the dash and door trim was black o
As well. I love cream interiors but I don't particularly like it everywhere! Wen even the steering wheel is beige it just looks awful in my opinion.
Another agree with this. My car has the full cream with the hearing aid dash top and steering wheel. Not too keen and it gets dirty real quick.

Great to see you're finally on the mend BTW.

Only those with giant testicles of granite need apply.

If that doesn't chuck bills worth more than the asking price in the first 12m I'll be shocked, amazed and surprised all at the same time.
It looks brill though.

The Legacy is massively underrated in this thread. The 6 pot burble is magnificent with a bit of exhaust tinkering.

That interior works for me because it's just the seats and doorcards.

Hate it when manufactures go full sandbox with seats, doorcards, carpets and dash.
Each to their own.

Only cheap cars change just seats and door panels...

Increasing trend these days due to cost cutting and everything having to be sport spec.
Sad to see it in even top of the range vehicles.

Black head linings as well. Can't stand them, so claustrophobic!
Agree on black headlinings. Not keen on light coloured carpets and steering wheels as they're simply impractical.

Lovely - it's running the original metric wheels though isn't it?
Not so sure.... They look a tad bigger than the original metric wheels.
Dont these suffer from tinworm quite badly?

Yes!

Front wings, rear arches, sunroof aperture (not just the lid), floor pans, sills, jack points, lower door edges.

Sunroof aperture probably the worst and potentially terminal imagine

Agreed. Surely the least wazzocky of the 'junior executive' rocketships. Isn't the suspension very trick, very fragile, and about £600 a corner?

I would really like someone I know to own one. But not me.

The fact it's done 160,000 miles I'd like to think most of the large bork items would have already shown themselves. If "full dealership history" equates to full Volvo History then that could be a good car.

The early cars aren't great. The interior is horrible and the Ford 5 speed gearbox isn't very robust. I'd have thought for £2k these days you should be able to get a sniff of a post 2002 car with the 4.2 and 6 speed gearbox?

I think I'd rather have a later 3.0 than the early 4.0 though, they drive like totally different cars. Or an XJ...

A very brief advert, but only £1,300. A very classyh way to spend such a small amount of money on a lot of car. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C659262

I saw that car at the Thatcham Classic car show on Saturday. My wife (who was with me) doesn't want another one of these so I couldn't look too closely, but it seemed OK. Not perfect of course, but not a total rotbox. I've seen much worse. Seller said he's never used the sunroof or cruise, but would take a grand for it.

I know, it's below thread budget. But the price did surprise me this morning.

Green T5 manual estate for £600 ono? Worth a punt?

I have a 2003 3.0l, But am continuously tempted with an earlier V8, so interested to hear your comments.

Lots of the later cars have big miles on them, and whilst the engines gone on forever, the suspensions/radiators and other items are pretty tired at 160,000+

By the way, that interior is exactly the same as mine.... nothing wrong with it in my opinion.

I can't see how you could go too wrong in that case - a proper cheap comfy smoker!

On that note.

Full main dealer history, £1,695, 4.2 V8.

This thread is going to end up costing me some money! I need to scratch the V8 itch. Must...stop...looking.

That's ace. Fantastic wheels, the much nicer non-parisian-urinal-esque dashboard, but before the awkward final rear-end. And cheap. Mmm cheap. Lovely, lovely cheap.

Yes, the wheels are the original TRX 415 'Black-line' type. Look nice but the tyres are now horrendously expensive and even new ones will be NOS as Michelin stopped making them years ago and the moulds no longer exist.

Completely off-topic but...

This exactly like the E9 3.0CS that I bought in 1988 and kept for 13 years. The same Baikal Blue colour, the same interior, same wheels...the only difference was mine was manual. I bought as a one owner car with circa 70K miles on the clock IIRC for £1500 (because I couldn't afford an E24).

Granted that was a while ago and this one does only have 11K miles on the clock but....look at the price! If only, eh?

£4500 and only 31k
Seller always has good stock and usually at top money.
This doesn't seem to be too badly priced though
