One from the previous thread, can't believe a car like this could go for less than the thread limit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-MERCEDES-BENZ-S500-...

I spotted that last week. If I hadn't just bought my 280, I'd have been all over that. Looked for an '07 350 for ages, and they were very few and far between. Good options and it looks well cared for as well.

Having owned a P2 V70, be aware that they have a turning circle only slightly smaller than a medium oil tanker. Absolutely horrendous for navigating parking spots, especially if you're coming from a MB.

Got to love the way the dealer booasts of the "£16000" that its cost the 1 previous owner to run this for 9 years, and thats with out fuel laugh
Much like the recent Maserati thread where someone mentioned buying a used Maserati with a 12" thick folder of receipts totalling about £60,000 coming with his used car. That's one mantle I'd shudder to take over.

Ran a 6 year old 4200 for 4 years.......only unforeseen expense was a rotted front subframe ( cost £2500, labour incl) and a reverse pod £100 odd, plug and play. The rest was normal servicing and new clutch.

Never let me down, a dream to drive a dream to sit in and positive comments everywhere.........would buy a GT in a flash but they never dropped much below £30k!!!

CL600 bi-turbo
60k miles
£5000
NOT silver!!
Proper forged wheels fitted.

Don't get more bang for your buck.
Just emailed the seller. Providing everything checks out I'll be buying, although I'm on holiday right now which might make things difficult frown
Now for sale with a different vendor for £12,700. Quite a mark up from £5k!

Definitely same car, check the reg.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MERCEDES-CL600-V12-BI-TU...

It is still listed at £5k as well!

r129 it was an absolute pleasure meeting you today.

What a lovely event. This was my barge of choice:

Aside from all the ungodly multi-million pound and 100 year old stuff, here are some highlights. On the Royal mile on the way to the event (was still there on the way home):

M1.Just wow!

And being a child of the 80s I can't help but vote this my favorite car. I must have 10 separate sets of photos of it, the F50 was nice though.

Nice yellow trousers by the way - very useful for identification.

Just catching up.
This will be a great buy for someone. I'm a fan of the 350 V6 petrol engine. It's a very smooth relaxed engine when cruising but can be quite eager to make progress when pushed.
Comand is no big deal in my opinion.

Good to see you, too, Oa. Sorry about the marauding brats. We spotted that cypress green SLC, too. One of the best cars of the day!

I have always liked the Bertone Jet. I saw this car way back in about 2007 at Aston Martin Works Service in Newport Pagnell. I was there on a job but really it was a jolly and they were only too keen to oblige.

The brats seemed perfectly fine to me - you are getting them started early, which should be very much welcomed!

I popped out to the local pub in the SL tonight. A chap I know at the bar commented "I was trimming the lawn with earplugs in on Saturday at 2pm on X road when I heard a loud V8 passing, was it your blue SL?".... er yes it was.

The new set up is too loud. Very amusing, but a but embarrassing in town. I may keep it long enough to take a couple of recordings on a friend's go pro over the next few weeks though!

Comfortably within limit too at £4,100.

As said previously, the seller certainly can present a car well and nothing obvious, other than lack of recorded mileage, to suggest this wasn't a superb car. If it was a PH'er then would love to hear about it.

I'm sure there was also one by him on Top Gear.

I've just checked and it's on Youtube

I'm away this week. If it's still there at the weekend I'm off to view it.

Very good. What I've learned from mine is that they're generally robust, but the inner front arm bushes can go and it's very often missed by the MoT test. Fortunately mine had new arms recently fitted. Excellent cars though and the 500 is the one to have IMO.

What setup have you got(so I know not to go that way)!
My SL needs new cats by the look of it. Loud whooshing sounds and no power whenever you put your foot on the loud pedal. Going to try to get it sorted tomorrow and may get him to change the back box at the same time.....

I just had mine done on the 500, 2 X cats replaced ( replaced with sport cats) and rear silencer in stainless steel.
