What's the opinion on this one? Wonder if that amaretto(?) interior finish is repairable.....

Exterior colour fail. 'Swade' looks knackered, but probably readily re-trimmable. Overall, I love it!
No mention of miles and a mention of a few other bits that need fixing which is bound to mean the rear window rust.

I think god is telling me to go to Mallorca for that other car.

I would lose it in the snow.

A couple of American places offer new leather seat covers for the 126. It works out about £2k for a whole interior, but you'd need door cards and rear quarter trims, too. They're not easy to find. The console also looks dry and faded. It has been for sale a while, that one.

I scanned the ski SEC pic just now but I think you're right, I think it has been posted before. I too like smart cars with skis on the roof. They seem so sophisticated to my child-of-the-70s eyes.

Rather than Mallorca, how about this one in Marbella? I posted it about six weeks ago. Maybe he'd take a low bid? Anyway, the appeal of the Marbella-Ronda road is surely greater than that of the Palma-Barcelona ferry?

I've got a very good guy over here that can re-trim the interior for good money. The exterior colour isn't for me but I'd be tempted to have The Man paint it black for me- fixing a rusty rear shelf will be simple when the car is completely gutted!

If that's there in January (famous wise words I know)....

No. But here they are on a w123. I think they look bloody good.

And these 17" customs are the business.

That being the case go for the Mallorca car the interior is at least in decent enough shape and it is quite a lot cheaper.

Rear bucket seats, nice, not sure why you need them in a 2L though, hehe.

I want a black one- black with blue interior wouldn't work for me, whilst black/red is right up my street:

Re the baroques, they look fantastic- those 17" versions would be amazing on a black c126 idea

I've never liked them in black - I much prefer that green one! I just don't have the guts.
I'd prefer in green ideally, but it's winter so less daylight and in the dark the black looks good, it looks right and the years have taken the
aggressiveness off the l322.

I really like the 16" 15 hole wheels from the early R129 fitted to the W126.

Nice colour, sensible wheels, big motor. But whilst it no doubt has its charms, it will be totally rubbish, right? Or wrong?

And a slightly better 560 SEL here:

"The four correct Michelin tyres are practically new, and the alloy wheels are like new also."
Translated means "after scraping through MoTs since 2009 with advisories for tyres, it finally failed and I had to buy some".

I wonder what else has been so blatantly ignored.

Lovely colour though smile

Except that plate is now on the vendors other car (S600) which means MOT check does not show details for this one.

Is it wrong to partly like the 190 because of its heritage? Something I find attractive is that it's a Mercedes from the era when Mercedes really was at its best for quality, innovation and a total cut above all other mainstream car makers.

R129: Are you bringing any of the fleet to either the Goodwood Sunday Service or the meet in December? If so what are you bringing? smile

Far from it- it's from an era when having a Mercedes really meant something due to their engineering and prestige. It's for that reason people were prepared to go for poverty spec Benzes over other cars due to their quality.

Worth £1500 on a good day.

I would only take a punt on a V8 if a recon/top-hat engine had been fitted. Otherwise you can easily do what I did with mine - spend a small fortune on general work and the engine suddenly self destructs shortly after.
