I was imagining a price starting with "£1...". £3k is bonkers for a f*cked up interplanetary diesel. I'm oot.

No idea what this is worth especially with o history, but I quite like it.
Post-facelift I'd say about bottom of budget, the post "Project Drive" cars are nowhere near as good as the pre ones.

Advert's a bit of an odd one... it says "from my own private collection that I have decided to sell" as if to imply the seller has owned this car for a long time. Then later "the previous owner was an elderly gentleman who has decided to downsize... mislaid the service book... will send it to me when he finds it" as it to imply the seller has bought the car because he's a dealer who has acquired the car recently.

Neither is necessarily 'dodgy', but each story contradicts the other. Why do ebay vendors in particular weave such a web of bullsh*t instead of just stating the facts of the car's condition and drop the storytime?

All that said, it's a nice car. Much more appealing today than it was when new imo.

Only a few hours left but perhaps a good one - being sold by a specialist, 1 PO, 103k and I think I can spot Pirelli boots. The 5 pot diesel is supposedly pretty tough? Cloth though.

I'd concur. E46 was a better option during this period.
I'm generally a MB man but the W203 was a low point for Mercedes IMO and the C203 was the worst of the lot. It is only trumped by the W168 but at least that car serves it's intended purpose well despite being very un-Mercedes like.
I reckon the W415 is the worst MB so far - otherwise known as the Citan. I believe the 'C' in the name is soft and pronounced 'sh'. Way to piss all over your brand value, Mercedes...
Granted mine is an AMG so has just about every option thrown at it but rust aside, I really quite like my S203!

My Mrs had a W203 220CDi from new as a company car. It was really very good and certainly the interior felt much higher quality than the replacement model. Suppose we only had it 3 years so no real time for it to rust, not that it was showing any signs of it.

Wow, £1850 with nine minutes to go. Lucky I'm not in a position to bid or I might get myself into trouble with that one.

Depends what you'd rather be seen in- a gopping, heaving monstrosity that makes adults stare and kids cry, or a Chrysler.

Quite frankly I'd be utterly embarrassed turning up anywhere in that Chrysler! It's hideous!
