Probably one for r129sl, but is the lack of an indicator hole an issue? Seems odd that it doesn't have one if it's original.
It's located within 5 miles of me, so I could be tempted.
There is this as a cheaper after-market alternative, but I'd prefer original.

Very easy for the hole to be cut. It's located within 5 miles of me, so I could be tempted.

Many markets didn't require them so I'm guessing the wing has been imported at some point.

They don't fit properly and the consensus is by the time you've messed around getting the shut lines right with filler and hammering you might as well have bought an OEM one.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121522491782?_trksid=p20...

Ok so its the devil's fuel and a four wheel drive but I think this qualifies...
Toerag V10 in budget.

How much of a risk are these with the V10? I'd heard minor service jobs = engine out, as it's quite a tight package.Toerag V10 in budget.

Anyone on here got one?

Check with your bodyshop before getting one without a hole but, as V12 says, it shouldn't be much of a problem. But it all adds expense.

From my one trip in one, not the car the numbers would have you believe (like a Passat W8 come to think of it). Toerag V10 in budget.

Not THAT quick, nor economical. You'd be better off looking for a 1st gen Cayenne S with the 4.5 V8.

The only problem with that is Cayennes are fugly... and wayyyy out of budget.
I'm not rushing out to buy one and this post is really only to book mark the thread but you can buy a cayenne for sub £5k...http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2015...

There has to be a happy medium somewhere between looking like it's on furniture castors, and wondering if the Flying Scotsman is sat on bricks somewhere. I've never seen this happy medium on a Cayenne though. (also bookmarked.)A mate has a V10 Touareg and is currently experiencing turbo-related limp modes and boost problems. Which require engine dropped to fix. Seems to come and go so he's thinking about getting shot of it before it throws a multiple thousand pound bill (he paid 7.5 for it). Barge roulette.
Dear God, can someone on here please buy that 800 Vitesse!
It looks spectacularly better than I remember and just how little could you enjoy it if only spending the cost of ten tanks of unleaded.
I was delighted that SpeckledJim commented so favourably on it as for me he is the barometer of good taste most days. Plus, in my minds eye it is exactly the sort of whip I imagine he cuts about town in by choice.

Checking in to Volume 9.
It seems appropriate to mention that this week I find myself working at the Nardo test track. As you come in the main gate there is a big display of various records that have been set at the facility.......
Of relevance to this thread quickest 10,000km, Quickest 25,000km and Quickest 50,000km all set in 1983 by a Mercedes 190E 2.3. I am not able to get a pic of the display as cameras are all covered up with stickers on entry to the site.

It was quite a feat: run flat out for 50,000km without breaking.
But those tight shorts: what were they thinking? It's like Freddie Mercury's racing team.
Wasn't this also where the McLaren F1 with Johnathon Palmer hit some mad top speed?
ETA: It was Andy Wallace
I see they did it again with three w211 v6 diesels in 2005, this time doing 100,000miles flat out:
