Hi,

You might have read another topic about the Peugeot 4007, but I have been told its crap. So here I am asking this, whats the best 2 litre diesel estate car?

Criteria

-6 years of age max
- £7k max
-70k miles max
-45+ MPG
-Big enough to fit a family of 5
-2 litre or bigger engine

Thanks!

Especially if your family of five has no possessions and includes three dwarfs.

I think that whilst they don't have a great reputation round these parts, the Estates are pretty decent cars. Plenty of choice means they are cheap. You could do worse.

if the 3 kids are just toddlers then almost any estate will work, but if tey are teens get a 5 series, or like i did a people carrier. (and a roof box for hols).

They are older kids. Have been looking at the Grand Scenic.

Id have a look at a Skoda Octavia or the Accord although I think the 2.2vdti can be a bit iffy on the 2005-7era cars

There are no Accords that fit my criteria. There are Octavias though.

Mum had one as a rental to drive Inverness to Devon and back. Said it was far too noisy on the motorway, not really that nice a car. Just my 2cents

Depends how big the kids are, Octavia is probably about the bottom end of your size requirements. Fits 4 adults in comfort, 5 is reasonably comfortable, and has a decent sized boot, but if you're looking at booster seats or child seats then it might be a bit cramped in the back. I've averaged about 47mpg over several years in my vRS, and regularly get mid 50's on longer journeys.

Supurb is a bit bigger.

I shall check 'em out. What are they like to drive?

159 Sportwagon.

the 2.0 is good (so I'm told) but the 2.4 is better.

Plus, those looks!
