This was mine ,a £360 ebay purchase !
3.6 sport ,cream leather interior ,I ran it for a year with out problem ,30+mpg on a run ,mid teens around town ,replaced a couple of headlamps as they were discoloured ,not much room and a bit of a struggle getting in and out of the drivers seat ,I then sold it to my mate who runs a resto company specializing in jags ,I came across it again this summer at the local car show .
Fab ride and handling .
They never did a 3.6 X300 - you mean 3.2?

Well an advert is trying to sell something. So being positive rather than a dick is far more likely to help you sell said car.

But if it bothers you so much, why not buy this Jag and resell and then you can describe it in the listing how you want to.

Have a rolleyes
Don't mention the a/c then. The regas line is a load of bks- much like your post replying to me.

Might switch the S type for an XJ next time.

Another classic in adds: "aircon needs regassing". This means ofcourse: "compressor needs replacement".

I really like this Shed of the week - it is a lovely colour too - Sapphire blue?
Antigua Blue - lovely rare colour, especially in a non-Sport or XJR model.

I'd rather a 4.0. Paid £500 for my last one and it hit 141mph at Bruntingthorpe. Beat the living daylights out of it, too, and it kept on ticking. Later sold it for £500. The new owner then took it to the Nürburgring, did a few laps, and drove it back. No faults or problems. Top stuff!

Full story on it here: http://goo.gl/Sj7Ry1

I'd love an XJR-6 at some point. Fit a new bracket for the crank position sensor for a little more advance, new pulleys, better exhaust system, enjoy...

In some cases it can be the climate control valve, which is a bit cheaper to buy than a compressor but harder to reach and change

That is exactly what we were trying to do, haha. Made bob-all difference but then it was a rushed job.

We eventually masked up the whole grille. Didn't make any difference to the running temperatures, surprisingly. Or the speed...

^^ Agreed. I find myself playing MPG roulette with this on a regular basis. If you keep it bang on 70mph it will return half decent MPG. I did a run from Twickenham to Loughborough and back a month or so back and returned 28 mpg. I'm sure it would have done more had I been hyper-mileing it.

Not bad for a 2 tonne 3.2 litre barge.
I used to get 26.5mpg out of a XJ40 3.2 on a run. As you say, not too bad for a barge.

I'll get another one day, nothing else is like them for any money.

Yeah, of course it does.... right after you've replaced the condenser etc etc... wink
That's exactly what I thought. Should just put air con doesn't work!

If it's not rusty, clean inside, drives well enough, and has 12 months MoT, then it looks like a lot of
Waftability for a grand. The a/c might cost a few quid to fix, but you can haggle a bit about that.

This seems to be a nice bit of Arfur Daley shedding :-)

Nice shed.
Buy it run if, it dies scrap it or sell for parts (if your that way inclined).

I would expect the ride to be like my old e39 528 estate. super bargy, very wafty, and most sofaish!

Sod the air con.

The grill change was enough to make me think this one was an XJR.

I have owned or driven most of the XJ Series car (series 1 to X300) Currently on my 2nd X300 3.2 which is the XJ Sport version same nice blue as this SOTW

I paid £1k for my current car and have had it about 2 years now (paid under £2k for the last one and got 5+ years from it) mine has a few problems with the lacquer, but other than that is fine.

I took my old 3.2 X300 to Ireland over Christmas one year when they had a really cold snap before we got it bad in the January, I did 1500 miles in 5 days mainly on snow and Ice and AVERAGED 36mpg (mainly because I dared not go near the brakes or throttle because of the icy roads.) it never put a foot wrong in those conditions the worst bit was trying to loose that last 5mph as the ABS would kick in, but as long as you allowed for that it was great. It even managed a 3 point turn on a road covered in Ice that I couldn't stand up on once I got out of the car!

I love these 'high speed 3 piece suites' yes parts might be double that of any other car but generally they last 3x as long. They are also good for way past 200k miles.

When my last X300 failed the MOT on some rot in the suspension (I'd not given it an easy 5 years if I'm honest!) I looked at what else I could get for the money and the next Jag was a no brainier for me.

For long distance runs they are brilliant, is slow traffic they will use more fuel but they are MUCH more comfortable that most cars, (I have a bad back and am Lucky if I can stand 1 hour in most cars before I have to take a break, in the Jag 4 hours is no problem) it's even more comfortable than my leather swivel PC chair I have at home and work.

I love my Jaguar.
