Anyone picked one up yet? I received an email yesterday and found it in my local shop. Hurrah!

As the title says, its about modern classics, so all the stuff I'm personally interested in. The cover features things like Boxsters, Saxo VTS, Focus RS etc, with articles on 360's and cars of similar ilk.

Not read it through yet, but signs are very promising. The paper quality initially feels a bit cheap - particularly when compared to the over-glossy style of Car and Evo, but its also £2.99 and the paper type is a refreshing change I think. As is the price point!

The articles are quite short, which I like, rather than reading an epic tale spanning 10 pages or more and it also has lots of piccy adverts, like a cross between Octane and Top Marques.

I reckon if Evo, Car and Top Gear mags were cars, they would be VW and Audi - lovely to behold, enjoyable to drive, at a price that makes you think twice and content that, under the hyper gloss is just a bit more of the same. By comparison, this seems more like a Mustang; new to the UK, a bit rough and ready, point and squirt, cheap as chips, satisfying.

No affiliation to the publishers, I just like the look of this one - its hit my sweet spot. Anyone else got it yet, what you think?

Should be fab, looking forward to picking one up. They've got a lot of scope for interesting articles since the definition of "modern classic" is so broad.

Looks like it could be interesting. Who publishes it? Any recognisable writers?

I think I'd find this more interesting purely on the basis it will cover interesting cars I could actually go and buy.

I think its published by the guys who do Car, as it was them who sent me the email. Notable writers highlighted on the first page are Adam Towler, Mike duff and Nick Hall. Staff Writer is Murray Scullion.

Had a flick through a mates copy of this today, really enjoyed it, think the values for the saxo vts are a bit off, wish I could get £2000 for my 'useable' example!

Anyone got a link for a subscription?

Bauer Media - according to their website, from the same team as Practical Calssics, Classic Cars, Classic Car Weekly. CAR is also BM.

Looks good, I shall buy a copy tomorrow.

EVO seem to have lost the plot with some of the crap it has in it. 'The thrill of driving' must be even more subjective than I thought!

Cheers for the heads-up on the new mag OP

I am currently subscribed to EVO but going off it every month now as it just doesn't hit the spot for me anymore and I enjoy CAR magazine far more so I might set up a CAR subscription instead.

Subscriber to Car for many years and really enjoy it. However, I've just cancelled as I can have loads of car mags (including Car) for a tenner a month with Readly. As much as I like the feel of a paper mag, this is great value. Might pick up this new one though, thanks for the heads up.

Evo's OK when you can get 5 for £5, plus a free toolkit (and cancel any further copies)!

I wasn't aware of Readly thanks and that looks a cracking deal for the money and I have spent loads on magazines over the years plus they take up lots of room and weigh a ton when you move house too.
