Seems like a pretty horrendous accident. Crash occurred just after midnight, seems an odd time to be out on a quad if you ask me.

Four people on the bike as well apparently all of whom died, didn't know they made them with that capacity.

Sympathies to those involved.

fkwittery from all parties I reckon.

Still, that doesn't stop it being sad. What a waste of life at such young ages.

Reading other articles it sounds like it was a bunch of people arsing around.

Apparently the Nissan hit the quad from behind so at a guess (not a good thing to do in a tragic event, I know) it was horseplay gone horrifically wrong.

Like I say, I'm putting two and two together (eye witness report saying they could hear racing up and down) and may well be coming up with five.

Tragic, regardless of where the may or may not blame lie.

Sorry, Sad as it is, that's the standard response to any incident on the road in my local paper.

This is my local bypass, stones throw from my house (literally)

Pretty sad news but guess what you will and you're probably right. I don't think the two parties were connected though, prior to the collision anyway.

Cheers. Police asking for sightings of an unregistered quad bike. Oh dear.

Tragic that they were so young, 16 year old girl among the dead. I hope my daughter doesn't get involved in anything like this when she gets to that age frown

There's a guy who rides a Quad bike around my southern village. He's a total wker and drives it far too quickly on the road (and doesn't wear a helmet). There's probably some common ground with this story.

You don't have to wear a helmet on a quad bike.

This quad bike wasn't even road legal, so I've heard!

I don't think I've ever seen someone driving a quad bike on the road that wasn't driving like an utter bellend. Sure, they don't have to wear helmets but it shows you the intelligence of the drivers seeing as they don't.

How do you get 4 people on a quad bike is the real question here.

Lots of quad bike usage on the moors and by-ways around here. Used to be scrambler bikes, now it's these guys tearing up the lanes, two up, no helmets, loud as fk, accident waiting to happen... . Looks great fun. Maybe not wise on a derestricted road in the dark though.

Bingo. From what I've seen, 4wd ones are ridden by farmers and the like or "sensible" leisure users in the countryside, 2wd ones by loud-exhaust loving bellends in city and suburban areas.

Doesn't seem to be enough wreckage to be one of those quad/buggy things that does seat 4. So 4 up on a 2 seat quad maybe? Dangerous in itself.

Quite easily. Out in the sticks we used to ride a cub 90 4 up down a disused railway track to get to school. After thas a ts250 was luxury.

That's sad news for everyone involved.
Don't think a 16 YO girl should be out at mid night, though...

Why? 16 year olds are allowed to work...
