lol, yes....what a great 'specialist' insurance company.

Where do I start?

1) assuring me they would honor a 2 years NCB that I had coming from a fleet insurance...come renewal, "Sorry Mr Shark, we can't do that" - don't bloody say it in the first place then!
2) trying to charge over £300 AP to add me to my wife's policy for a pro rata period....then when challenged taking it down to circa £50 - chancers
3) on trying to get an Impreza Sportswagon insured, "That'll be over £1k Mr Shark" - the car was bought for £2,800 and I'm well over 25 years old! When challenged the final response was "We don't like Imprezas"....don't bill yourselves as a 'specialist' insurer then.

Just another call centre using glorified price compare websites.

What the hell?! What did they say the £80 was owed for?
From a previous policy, that I just owed it from a policy that ended over 6 years ago. But as it was so many years ago they couldn't give me specifics. Surely if I'd owed them money back then, they would have sent numerous letters demanding payment? Or solicitors letters or debt collection etc? But nothing. As far as I was aware, all my policies were paid in full.

The total irony of the above posts. These so called PH experts who cherish their vehicle only want budget products hehe

Even more amusing is you all think that you are "Round Pegs" going into "Round Holes" no two risks are the same. Enjoy. Bet all your arses squeak more than fresh trainers on polished flooring!!

Spot the 2 Flux employees in this thread. laugh

I do love these threads that don't go as the author expected, especially when they're started by the site owners. hehe

I'm with Flux at the minute and am expecting a renewal letter to drop through the door any day now as the policy is up in the next week or so.
Personally, I'm not planning to use them again as their change of policy costs are outrageous.
I normally change my cars every six months or so and expect to pay a nominal charge for the paperwork change as well as an increase on a pro-rata basis based on the car I buy and the length of insurance period remaining.
I feel that this year they took the pi$$ on the charges.
Last October I insured a modified Celica GT-4 (circa 320bhp) with them and then sold it in spring. As an interim car, I bought a standard 1.8 mark 1 MX-5 and phoned them to change the details. They charged the normal fee for the paperwork change and said there would be no increase in premium. Fair enough I thought - a refund of some premium would have been nice considering what I had changed from, but fair enough.
So, come July I found a bog standard Evo 5 I liked and bought that. Contacted Flux expecting to pay the admin charge only as my original premium cost had been for the higher power GT-4, but no - that'll be another £400 sir.
Hang about I said, you already took £500 off me 8 months ago for a higher powered modified car. Their justification was that the premium reflected the increase from the MX-5 to the EVO and they didn't take into consideration what the original premium was. Thats just crazy.
As mentioned by others, I tried to get the cost down by saying I was a paid up member of the Evo owners club. Their response was as expected - they have already applied a club member discount, even though I hadn't told them beforehand. When challenged on this, they said that as I was a member of the GT4 club previously that they assumed I would be a member of the Evo club so applied the discount to me as a favour. bks to that.
I've already lined up a good price from my soon to be insurer - Pace Ward, but I'll deffo call Flux when their renewal comes through just to see what they say when i ask about the PH discount.
Would NOT use them again.
Good luck to those that do, I'm sure they are good for some people - they were for me initially but their pi$$ take money grabbing policy on change of details have put me off ever using them again

He did indeed - idiotic.

I'm intrigued - what's 'thick' about not endorsing a company who's quotes are typically significantly higher than those from other companies, and whose customer 'service' is utterly woeful?

I used Flux a couple of times when I was under 20ys old. Many insurers wanted silly quotes for my fiesta with tints & alloys but Flux were not concerned with that as long as there were no engine mods.

I can ecco what people say about the 15% discount being nonsense. On one occasion when tried with flux they gave me a quote that was higher (but not by much) then a better quote I had. I asked them to put the discount and it had already been applied.

Adrian Flux: Never again!

I had my Audi A4 insured with Flux - not the cheapest, but a sensible quote. Halfway through the year I upgraded to an S4, and the pro-rata cost to switch cover was simply outrageous, so I had no choice but to pay the equally outrageous cancellation charge. grrrr.

S4 Insurance was arranged with Chris Knott, who I've nothing but praise for. Excellent service so far!

terrible insurance company - been with them for too long now and will be changing on renewal. Got a new car recently and they failed to inform me that they had removed the option to drive other vehicles on a 3rd party basis, rang them up and said they could not ammend the policy until my next renewal - not very helpful - AVOID.

Insured my 1980 Camaro with them. The cancellation cost when it came to selling it was awful, and the girl on the phone was just plain rude. Never again.

"Send me a PM with your details and I'll get this looked into for you." spin

I think it's only a matter of time until this entire thread disappears.

Cancelled my insurance with them this morning as sold my spare car. Yes no problem that will be £96 please.
I don't begrudge paying a fee for cancellation but nearly a quarter of the premium is nuts.
I shall not be using them again
