Jamie, I'm starting a policy with you from the 1st March but I don't remember being asked about being a member of a forum, just a car club. Is it worth phoning again to get a discount since the policy is yet to start?

Ah, they're online if you google it. And that £65 figure is now £100...

Online, but as far as I can tell, not linked from anywhere on your website. Hardly "published" frown
Holy jesus mother of gods - up to £100 to set up a new business or renewal!!

JamieAtFlux - why did you not direct me to this document initially? scratchchin

The word profiteering springs to mind. Could you advise if your staff are targeted and rewarded based on the amount of fee income they generate?

Hello Patrick

Would you mind sending me a message with some policy info and I'll take a look for you.

Thanks, message sent.

This thread doesn't fill me with hope I must say.

Although the other day I looked at reviews on a site for Aviva insurance and they were overwhelmingly negative but I hadn't had any issues with them in the past 2/3 years.

They were not any cheaper for me .. Classic line was much better
Yup, at my renewal (today) the premium I've paid to Classic Line is 40% cheaper than the Adrian Flux quote! I used Adrian Flux for many years but a couple of years ago they completely lost the plot IMO.

Hi Patrick,

I have not received A PM from you. I also tried sending a PM to you but I guess you didn't get it? I am speaking with PH admin now to try and get this resolved but in the meantime if you could re-send the details to me direct at socialmedia@adrianflux.co.uk I will get on this ASAP.

Thanks
Jamie

Well despite the general negativity in here I don't have cause to complain yet. £30 refund.

On hold awaiting to speak to Flux's customer "service" team. Been here for 18 minutes and counting.

What's more frustrating is it's not unusual, and costs a bloody lot for the privilege!

Marvellous! Cheers for that.

Anyhoo, got through to them to change my vehicle on my policy.

Going from a £11k MG ZT V8 (4.6 litres) to a £2k Nissan Micra 160SR (1.6 litres)-my new daily drive thanks to thinning the fleet.

That'll be £97 please...madeek

Only after questioning it, then having a brainwave of suggesting modifying it (I was half contemplating doing so anyway) brought the price down from pisstake to semi-pisstake (£44).

I still fail to see how it's an increase in risk, even taking into account their fee for pressing a few buttons on a keyboard and sending an email (not even printed documents!).

I think the renewal will be going elsewhere come July...

Had a similar issue when adding a second car to my flux policy.

Had my m3 on there. Called to add a £1000 Audi estate I bought to put the dogs in - costs more per year to insure than my m3. Reason: it's too cheap. So therefore, higher risk.

I'll be going elsewhere when renewal is up, had to do it as I needed my NCB mirrored.

The too cheap argument doesn't wash with me as I've just bought a brand new car which I asked for a quote on instead of the Micra. They won't quote on it apparently due to the value (£40k)...

You couldn't make it up, except they do!

Sorry to hear you feel this way, if you would like to PM me some details I would be happy to look and see if there is anything I can do to bring it down at all?

Jamie, thanks for responding. I'll drop you a PM with the policy details when I'm behind a keyboard rather than a mobile phone.

I would be interested to hear how the premium is justified; the Micra isn't exactly a more crashable, nickable car and bits for it aren't hard to come by.

Just insured with Flux. More than I wanted to pay, but c'est la vie - I'm hoping to go FI this year so makes sense to use a company familiar with mods.

Still, a hike on last year despite a no-fault claim. Esure was £143 last year, everything declared including business use - this year they wanted £339! Flux was more expensive but a quick phone call and a little haggle brought it a little under at £325. Still way more than double last year but it seems to be the best available to me at the moment.

I suspect the 1% increase in IPT is being used as an excuse to claw back a little profit.
