RE: PistonHeads/Adrian Flux partnership
Discussion
Just been emailing Flux to add on my exhaust I've fitted (no charge-good!) but it now turns out I have to declare European trip dates to them (unbeknown to me-they just said Euro cover is included!). Got this email from them today (despite customer services apparently being closed today), so I'm now furiously trying to get through to them as I go away tomorrow. Grrr...

Can I insure my car at two locations? One is my driveway and another is a lock up around the corner. I did it last year with no problems but I have just rang up about my renewal and now apparently it's not possible?
Hi,If you could PM me your policy details I'd be happy to look into this for you.
Kind Regards

I can tell I've been on hold toooo long if my arm starts aching, 15 minutes to change my address and continual 'selling' of other products I have zero interest in, I'm naturally cynical and think I'm being put on hold in order to be forced to hear the adverts. ......and I had to hang up before the end as got put back on hold and haven't got the time to be doing this, in contrast Esure managed the same procedure in under 10 minutes, not impressed.

Well, plenty of warning about 'em. They are truly crap in so many ways.raceboy said:

15 minutes- long time in my experience for AF, but don't expect AF to call you back once you are a customer- all free callbacks, calls to 0800 service are for BRAND NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY. But, if you want to see a firm that specialises in keeping you on hold ,try Premium Credit, the firm AF uses to let you pay premium over 10 months. I tried for over a week, on several occasions each day .Best expected reply time was 10 minutes, so I placed a written complaint. Excuse was volume of calls. Except that if the review on PC call answering is viewed, this has been going on for over two years. I asked AF for help- "separate firm " was the answer. I must say that having had a claim in January, I'm glad I 'purchased' my excess protect policy.
As a young driver with fairly nice car, my policy had a huge £750 excess so I negotiated the excess protect as part of the premium. So when I made the claim, I had to pay the £750 to Bmw Sytner but a few months down the line, when the claim was settled and liability was agreed, a few phone calls and now my check for £750 is on my way to me. Therefore, £0 excess.
However come renewal time, I expect with the claim and total loss of NCB I'll be bending over.

I was previously a customer of Adrian Flux and have recently asked them to quote for 3 cars, so a chance for them to win back their business. Despite 4 calls and 2 emails, they still haven't reverted with a quote.
One wonders how a business like this actually makes any money...

So, my topic has been closed to "protect the innocent". Here's the transcript of what was deleted by the powers-that-be.
"My policy came up for renewal in September last year, so I decided to get a quote from Adrian Flux, long-time PH sponsor and self-styled "Specialist Car Insurance broker".
At the time, I owned a 2002 BMW 330ci, and they quoted ~10% above the comparison site usual suspects. I decided that a "specialist" would be the insurer of choice if I wanted to insure risky/'performance' cars in Central London. How wrong could I be!
Roll on to February, I sold the 330ci and bought a CLK430 convertible. I called Adrian Flux, only to be told that my policy would be roughly doubling for a car of the same value.
I understand the relationship of risk, and owning a V8 convertible in London is relatively risky, so I decided that an extra year's NCD was worth the increased premium (being halfway through my NCD year with them).
Come back to today, I've just come off the phone with my "account manager", after trying to swap my insurance from the CLK430 (which I'm selling) to a 2001 330ci (almost identical to the one I sold).
Adrian Flux's response to this, that will be an ADDITIONAL £40 a month for the remainder of your policy (two months) plus a £25 admin fee to change.
My "account manager" failed to see why I was absolutely gobsmacked at being asked to pay almost three times the original monthly premium for an identical car, and was surprised that I asked about cancellation (on principle).
Her response to this (verbatim), "Oh, OK. You need to send us an email. Is there anything else I can help you with?".
Am I wrong to expect more from a "specialist"?
Was I wrong to eschew the mainstream comparison site suggestions in favour of Adrian Flux?
Am I the only one getting such appalling service?"

Hello. New to the forum.
The first thing I see is Adrian Flux. I insured one of my cars fully comp with them & at an agreed valuation, only to see in the small print that the policy is void if I am to blame?????????? I am not planning to bang it up but you just never know. Beware..........
