Cancelled my insurance with them this morning as sold my spare car. Yes no problem that will be £96 please.
They must be making more profit from people who don't want to insure with them, than from those that do!

I had to use them once unfortunately as no one else wanted to know with a modified Defender.

I got put through to the "Landrover specialist" who didn't know what a external roll cage was, couldn't understand why my defender only had two seats, not five as her computer suggested.
When I said it was a van back one (no back windows or seats) she said I'd need specialist van insurance depending what I carried in the back, I tried to explain that it wasn't used as a van, it just happened to have no rear seats or Windows and she finally agreed I'd be insured so longs as I was doing van stuff....

The price wasn't bad to be fair, I couldn't drive other cars 3rd party though which was annoying, and as others have said, the PH discount was added before I even mentioned it

Adrian Flux? Never again, lazy shower of sts.

I had a cracked screen on my car so contacted them to help with the replacement process. When I explained that I wanted it replaced by my chosen repairer their attitude was 'Here's your insurance co's number, fk off and sort it yourself!'

I replaced the screen out of my own pocket due to the pending MOT and sent the bill to Flux as the ins co wouldn't answer the phone, I'm still waiting for them to sort it 2 months later.

Adrian Flux claimed that they 'knew' I was a member of Pistonheads and had therefore already applied my mythical 15% discount. I get a little annoyed when people or companies blatantly lie to me…so I asked them how they 'knew', I was told that "it was on their system" scratchchin

To be fair, I was with them for a few years from 2008 - 2012 as they were the cheapest for my car at that time (modified Sierra XR4x4), but they couldn't come near the Lancaster quote for my current car (modified Volvo Amazon). I never had any other problems with them or had to make a claim (thankfully).

Would I use AF again?

Possibly. But they would be my final choice of company.

Sorry Adrian Flux - but you have to accept that if you lie to or mislead your potential customers with alleged discounts that never materialise, then your reputation will suffer.

I've got 2 cars insured through Adrian Flux.

The modified Leon Cupra R was considerably cheaper than the Greenlight policy and a few others I checked online and telephoned.

The Elise was also cheaper as I have just started no-claims on a second car so it was difficult to find an insurer that would do it at a decent price.

I haven't had to claim or change anything on the policy's so can't comment on those costs. But so far I am happy. Both people I spoke to were knowledgeable and understood what I wanted. They asked if I was a member of a club before giving me a quote, so I don't know if I got a real discount or not...

I've just bought a winter run about so had to start a fresh insurance with zero no claims, Adrian Flux got me a much cheaper price than I managed, I'll go back when my BMW needs renewing.

I had my old lightly modified ST220 insured with them for a year as they were cheapest but it did take them several attempts to send me paperwork with the correct mod listed. A third of the way through the year I got charged a bit policy amendment fee when I put upgraded brakes on it. It was something north of £70 if I remember which hacked me off somewhat when a previous insurers admin charge was about £25.

From one Insurance professional to another....you just won 'bellend of the thread' for that one! Congrats! Mega lolz, smiley face.
Indeed, from another Insurance professional you would think that he's aware that insurance is primarily risk based.
An expensive insurance policy doesn't guarantee great service or cover, likewise you can obtain great cover for low premiums.

Insured my 1980 Camaro with them. The cancellation cost when it came to selling it was awful, and the girl on the phone was just plain rude. Never again.

I don't begrudge paying a fee for cancellation but nearly a quarter of the premium is nuts.
^^^All these posts echo with my experience with them...

They automatically renewed a policy on a car that I owned but my Mum was using a few years ago, only noticed a few weeks later when she opened the paperwork and we received back about 20% of the policy cost in our "refund" for less than a month's cover. Totally disinterested when I complained as well...

Never again, they don't even get a call these days, even if they were cheap (and they're not anymore) you pay peanuts and get monkeys

Admiral have been far superior for me, been with them before and since Flux, they've handled a claim, and a cancellation in the same circumstances as Flux without charging me anything, much better customer service smile

Adrian Flux is back as PH's insurance provider of choice, with big discounts, personal service and specialist cover
So Pistonheads - some evidence please to support this great deal you've entered into with Flux?

So far, no evidence of any discount, amidst reports of significantly impersonal service and an apparent lack of automotive knowledge.

How much did they bung Haymarket for this one?

Back in the day I was looking to insure a Mk1 Golf Gti. I got a quote for £1000 ( nice round number that ) from Flux. I eventually got it insured through the Co Op for £315. I simply have never bothered with them again.

Thought it was my cue to jump in some of you may already know me from the existing forum but I've represented flux on PH for quite some time. Unfortunately I'm actually soon leaving to work in a different area in the motoring industry but as it’s my last week thought I'd jump on for old times sake!

Looks like my replacement may have a bit of a task on their hands! We were unaware that there was quite so much Flux negativity in the ether...we have hundreds of PHers already insured with us so thought we were all quite well aligned. This is exactly where the hidden value of a forum such as this is gain insight from non/ex customers in the hope that we can change process/opinion. Hopefully with this new partnership we can win back the hearts of those PHers who have gone elsewhere and explain the benefits of insuring via us to those who haven't already.

Just to clear up a couple of points

Depending on which number you called through on, the club member discount may or may not be already applied. The 0800 369 8586 number is unique to PH so anyone calling through on that the system will automatically recognise the source and we then apply the discount. I must reiterate however that this is UP TO 15% discount, as we are a broker we work with over 40 underwriters and well over 200 schemes. This means that whilst one insurer may offer a full 15% discount, another insurer may only offer 5% discount for being a member – It all comes down to which insurer offers you the most competitive quotation. We offer the club discount as our way of giving something back to the club.

If it ever comes up that we can’t offer the club discount for any reason – This is very likely to be due to the insurers we work with having minimum premiums that we cannot quote below. This means that you are already being offered the minimum premium that particular insurer offers for any client. We, unfortunately cannot change that!

Thank you for the feedback though, it highlights an education process need for the call centre that this perhaps should be highlighted more. I would welcome anyone with any particular case they would like me to look into to DM me the details.

Comments like "we don’t like Imprezas" are a concern, we'd say those types of cars are our core focus we have countless insured with us currently on the system. It may have been less about the car and more to do with other circumstances, I'll happily arrange for this to be looked at to see if there is anything more we can do though if you can DM me.

Commercially there is a win for both sides of course there is its business and it would be silly to say otherwise but PH and Adrian Flux have been discussing this partnership idea in the background for around 9 months and decisions haven't been taken lightly. PH chose to partner with us based on the volume of existing customers already using the service, our ability to provide bespoke quotes and stay competitive on specialist cars along with our appetite to give more value back through upcoming events and competitions (you'll find out more in due course).

As it’s my last week please let me know if there’s anything I can fix before I leave (although I'll probably regret saying that!)

The last time I used them I had a flyer with my renewal saying "we will beat any quote".

I got a quote that was better than they quoted.

I called up. "Er, we can't beat that quote"
I had the same experience.

I renewed my policy, then about 2-3 weeks before the new one had started was involved in an accident. Then on the day the new policy starts I get a call saying they've "just found out about the accident" (I reported it the day it happened, and they had already been dealing with it) and demanded double the premium there and then, or they were cancelling the policy. I was at work at the time, and had to take an hour out to arrange alternative insurance just so I could drive home!

They were the cheapest for me for one year with my old M3 but come renewal time the quote had nearly doubled. I rang around and found somewhere that was cheaper than my previous year and Flux couldn't match it.
