More Adrian Flux heroics, this time via BikeSure, the arm of the business that funnily enough deals with bikes. Current bike is insured and is mid term; ring to enquire about a change of bike (looking at an upgrade).

Quoted £1100 odd to change to a new policy (can't be covered on the old policy-fair enough-it's a 800cc vs 125cc) with a refund of £127 to come back from the 125 policy.

Now I remember receiving a quote of £867 via a price comparison website from BikeSure-I bring this up and am told that it can't be matched and can't be accurate because I haven't declared the accessory pack on this quote (despite quite clearly declaring it on the price comparison website).

Oh, and to cancel my existing 125 policy without taking a new policy will lose me pretty much all of the £127 in fees. But-you won't let me cancel and buy the new policy via the comparison site that you apparently can't match without losing the fees.

It's stuff like this which will ensure my new policy for the bike when I eventually change it and both my cars which are with AF, will go elsewhere. Atrocious customer service with people who take the "computer says no" line and that's that. Shame as I thought things had changed, obviously not...

Even better-I've just increased the value of the bike on the online quote and zero'ed the accessories being as this will make "A big difference and is the reason we can't match the online quote". Guess what?

It made absolutely zero difference to the online price. Still £867. laugh In fact another company has come in with a cheaper quote (£810) and a lower excess...

I found flux direct to be cheaper than Adrian flux.

Oddly.

It's come to renewal time, and a change of address, from a city center post code to a small village miles from the city.
Adrian flux quoted £2600 with a £3k excess (same price at both post codes, surprisingly).
Average-joe comparison site quoted £1650 with £500 excess.

Guess I'll be taking my business elsewhere, sadly.

Having just bought a new (to me) Jag XFR-S, I thought I'd see what AF could offer given that they 'specialise' in hgh perfomrance cars. But as expected really, an absolute joke. To be fair, the operative I spoke to wasn't too bad, though I had to prompt him to add a named driver. I also do about 1/2 my miles on business, so asked for class 1 business use. However, I wasn't asked how many business miles I do, like every other quote I've gotten.

The 'very competitive' quote I got was actually double what I have currently been quoted from my current insurer with a similar excess. So AF filed back to the place they belong in the comedy insurance provider folder.

Hi PHers,

Just to let you know that PistonHeads and Adrian Flux have decided to part ways and end the partnership after a number of years working together.

We would like to thank Adrian flux for the commercial support provided and a special thanks on behalf of the winners of the £15k car giveaway where two lucky PHers now own a Capri and Integrale.

We feel insurance has a place on the site and are undergoing a process to find a partner that works for everyone moving forward.

Thanks

Jack
