VAG 1.4TSI - am I nuts?
Discussion
Just to throw my worth into this (first post as well so hi everyone).
I bought a Fabia VRS TSI April this year, and for the most part it is brilliant.
It's a good relaxed cruiser if needs be but can be pushed on very well when the mood takes.
I'm averaging about 45mpg with it which is great. . .
Plus points over.
To summarise and not waffle, i have been plagued with little niggles, and the dealerships/customer services are HORRIFIC.
I have been trying to get the car sorted since June and am still making no headway.
I also have strong reason to believe that the car was not checked at all when it was sold to me (no multi-point inspection - i bought it from a Skoda main dealer as an approved used with 1 year warranty). This is mainly backed up by the fact the tyres were all at 15psi when they should be 35psi all around.
Brill car but too many niggles and terrible manufacturer. . . i would look at something else. Just save yourself the trouble.
I know i won't be going anywhere near a VAG product once i can get rid of this car.

Am about to P/X my red Polo GTI next week for the new one. 2010, 32k miles and no major issues with high oil consumption.. It does use about a litre every 1500 miles but apparently that it fairly normal for the engine, according to them it needs to be about a litre every 600 miles for them to do anything about it.
have you done this deal yet would you be up for selling the polo before p/x if so what price have they given you? (I am in Surrey so not far from you).No one mentioned timing chains yet? Ours needed replacing at 45k due to stretch caused by the crap design of the tensioner.
I beleive all the tsi engines use the same chain and associated parts, the complete engine failure on my uncles year old 1.2 tsi suggests it hasn't been rectified.

Yeah mine needed a new chain at 50k, and the turbo then seemed to fail within weeks of having that done I beleive all the tsi engines use the same chain and associated parts, the complete engine failure on my uncles year old 1.2 tsi suggests it hasn't been rectified.
This was on the 1.4 TSI 125 which some try and say is more reliable than the Twincharged variant, but my experience would suggest not!
I replaced car in question with a Mk5 Golf GTI which proved to be significantly more reliable (and more fun!)
