Ive never seen them that price. Mid £80k's maybe for a leggy one, but no way in the £50k's
Back in 2013 I saw a few nice ones in the 80s at main dealers. Even at the time I knew it was a great deal, but I wanted a convertible so went a different route. Of course they were never going in the 50s, that's madness.
Well here you go, one with a stick just came up in the US.

Yours for $599,999

By the way, wasn't it the 550/575 Maranello which was supposed to "look like a Supra" according to Oaf in chief Clarkson J ?
I will be very upset if it's the 599 that infact does as "looking like a supra" was the only reason i bought my 575, its got one of those funny stick things too which I have no idea how to use ! Should have held out for the Toyota I suppose.

I have a Supra. Never did I think it remotely resembled a Ferrari; a 550, 599 or otherwiseI will be very upset if it's the 599 that infact does as "looking like a supra" was the only reason i bought my 575, its got one of those funny stick things too which I have no idea how to use ! Er, no it's not.Adz The Rat said:
One day, I keep telling myself....
It was on sale for a few months and I had a load of time wasters so I took it off.Me and my friend David now have plans to take it to near 1000 bhp or as much as we can until it goes pop
Check out this baby that we bought for it
Borg Warner S471 71mm turbo.
Those wheels are 15 x 8" for comparison purposes. We're hoping to put some drag type tyres on the back to stop us slithering into the nearest fence.

Do you spend your evenings in McDonald's car parks by any chance?
No, but I am a Supra enthusiast. Hugely underrated cars in the UK, due in no small part to: - being covered in tasteless tat by chavs
- people who know nothing about them sticking their noses up at them because of badge snobbery or the Fast and the Furious stigma.
If people looked past the undeserved negativity, they would quickly realize that these are almost peerless cars. They Americans, Germans and Japanese really give these cars the respect they deserve, and they can fetch large sums in those markets.
Here is mine, which I would say gives that Ferrari a run for its money looks wise.
Beautiful car and an interesting article to read. But does this car really warrant an article entitled a "Buying Guide"...or was that titled a little tongue cheek?
Being honest...of the people who have passed comments here so far, one way or the other, who actually has enough money to buy and maintain one of these cars? I don't but reading things like advice to do your own checks for things like "creaking, worn ball-joints" etc at this level of the market would seem a bit "Plebeian" and embarrassing to me?
I would imagine a more seemly approach would be:
"Well, if the vendor isn't gentleman enough to be selling me such an expensive, rare and exotic car that I want without such issues; then I should be gentleman enough (and have ample funds available) to take him at his word and still buy the car without the need to personally check things in such a manner. If there are such issues to then quietly rectify them myself without making any mention of the fact at any later stage."
I still enjoyed the article...and what a stunning looking car.

Well there we go then that explains the original image you uploaded. Sorry but in my eyes I wouldn't go near a supra if there was a Ferrari 599 next to it. Thats like saying you'd sleep with vicky pollard with kelly brook standing next to her.... just can't compare Im sorry.
The Jap scene is strong I admit and I don't turn my nose up at Supras unless they have a ridiculous exhaust on them and a silly kit...
But I don't think certainly in looks, sound and pace you can compare? What power do supras have STOCK? :P

I have actually looked at buying one of these before, in the end I went for a F430 Spider because I wanted a convertible. To be quite honest the thought of buying one of these from a private person / indie dealer would scare me too much, so I just bought from a main dealer. But I can tell you when I sold my F430 privately, I had 'regular' guys interested and they went around checking out the car corner to corner before agreeing to purchase. These 599s have shot up a bit now, but when I was looking they cost the same as the F430 and probably had similar buyers. So I'm sure there are a number of people who would find this info really helpful, even if I personally would never risk buying out of the main dealer network.Being honest...of the people who have passed comments here so far, one way or the other, who actually has enough money to buy and maintain one of these cars? Remember on the cost side of things that these types of cars are actually often quite cheap as ownership propositions due to low/zero depreciation (if not appreciation) and are relatively reliable and covered under warranty. I had a year of motoring with that F430 Spider including a track day and plenty of spirited countryside driving, and it didn't cost me a penny - literally, even after buying from main dealer and selling privately, I still got all my costs back and didn't have to spend anything on maintenance and the appreciation in value covered my fuel & insurance. You really don't have to be a big-shot millionaire to buy one of these cars, if you buy carefully you should be able to run one as a second car for less than your 'average' person spends on their daily driver BMW 3 series.

My Supra pummeled my BMW M6 in a straight line and boost was only at 7psi. The boost controller I have fitted goes upto 17psi ......
Some are running at 45psi with giant Borg Warner turbos etc.

You would be surprised how tuneable the 2JZGTE engine is in those Supras. The block is immensley strong. 1500bhp is not unheard of.

I have no doubt that they can be made INSANELY fast - heck, I've watched the youtube videos myself! As can the M6 with it's twin turbo 4.4 V8 My Supra pummeled my BMW M6 in a straight line and boost was only at 7psi. The boost controller I have fitted goes upto 17psi ......

I just think the guy is somewhat of a black sheep in thinking that his Supra looks better than the gorgeous 599 GTB.

PS: Mine was the V10 M6....I'm sure the F12 4.4 TT V8 M6 is insanely tuneable too!
The fuel tank is 105 litres which I find big enough... especially when filling in a busy petrol station as can take a while...
Re running costs I have done c14,000 miles in mine and been offered more than I paid for it which is better then the M3 I had as that lost £20,000 in less miles... Servicing is c£975 at a main dealer and the extra things I have had done as this is a keeper such as changing the gearbox oil and some other elective jobs have come in at around £1000 per year. Insurance in London is £1100 per year.
My ball joints were done under warranty at c20,000 miles, there are apparently "better" after market ones which last longer, however mine are Ferrari's "new / improved" ones :-)
Apart from that they are great cars that can swallow 2 weeks worth of luggage for a European trip and still offer some "pace" when needed.
