Wash your own car?
Discussion
Home washing was regularly drilled into me for my bikes as it's a great safety inspection, and the psychology just transferred onto my cars .... plus I just enjoy 30 mins peace & quiet!
Constantly ribbed by the missus as the boss will pay for one wash a week, tho like others I'm sure I can do it quicker and better

Shouldn't that say clearcoat rather than paint? Not trying to be a pedantic arse but I always thought it was basecoar, paint and then clear on the majority of cars out there. I agree about the method you suggested though.
That reminds me, I still have a soddinf paint depth gauge sat about along with a G220 etc that I haven't touched in years.
Not on all finishes - Super Red Toyota MR2's don't have a clear coat, which is why they turn Super Pink if left untouched for a little while! That reminds me, I still have a soddinf paint depth gauge sat about along with a G220 etc that I haven't touched in years.

once a year HD Wax, 4 times per year Resin Polish
Wrong way round, surely? You'll just be removing the wax.In a nut shell...
Polish to cut a small layer of paint off, SRP does have the ability to hide swirls a little too if deeper than the layer it removes.
Wax (natural) or sealant (synthetic) to protect the new layer of paint you have exposed.
Also, the quick spray of Aqua Wax does a great job of maintaining the finish.
