Wow, talking about hating...anything else Ferrari is st at? The 458 owned the McLaren from the start...it'll be the same here.
Hardly, as a diehard Ferrari fan and serial owner I speak from experience and give an unbiased opinion.
I could of bought a 458 spider for less than the equivalent McLaren 650s spider but decided the McLaren was the far better car putting aside the prancing horse heritage and depreciation concerns.

An impressive review. But how many will get owners who will drive them as intended by Ferrari`s engineers and how many will be tucked away by owners under a dust sheet to appreciate in value as intended by Ferrari`s shareholders?
Don't think they'll be appreciating in value for a long while and what difference does that make to Ferrari shareholders?
FCA(Fiat Chrysler Autos) is currently selling a 10% stake in Ferrari to private investors. Marchionne, FCA`s boss, is saying to prospective investors that they should regard Ferrari as a luxury brand rather than as an automaker (an idea Cadillac is also trying to promote for its product). The aim is to justify the premium price of the share offering. Product scarcity is an important ingredient in this approach - in addition to offering a compelling product - hence the limited editions and sales of certain products exclusively to invited customers only.

It's a less pretty version of a 458 with an engine that isn't as good.

I'm sure we'll all become blind to those facts in the coming months when people start talking about power and speed and lap times, but in twenty years time the 458 will still be a beautiful, wonderful sounding car, and the 488 will be a relatively slow uninspiring one.

It'll be very good, but I've no real interest.

Want a supercar spider then there is only one choice - McLaren 650S spider. Once you have driven a carbon tubbed car anything else is simply inferior no matter how much stiffening they attempt.

There is zero compromise between a McLaren coupe and spider, the rigidity and build quality is simply awesome in comparison to any Ferrari.

Huracan spider sounds nice but to have a cloth roof in todays retractable hard top market place is seriously behind the times and compromises the roof up look.

McLaren 650S spider is undoubtedly the best all rounder car with carbon tub for rigidity, active aero for handling/performance and hydraulic suspension for sublime handling. Its the complete supercar unlike its seriously flawed Italian rivals
McLaren? - It's a Ferrari wannabe that lacks the soul of Italy's finest!

They would kill to be as loved and worshipped in the way that Ferrari are throughout the World, but it's never going to happen for them!
