I understand how it can look, but in actual fact it's the complete opposite. I have no business or vested interest all I'm trying to do is help out a fellow PHer and hopefully the PH community. Those that have contacted me will understand. There are certain deals in the market place which aren't advertised for a good reason.

PM's are down otherwise I would have PM'd you to explain. By all means contact me via the email in my profile and I will happily explain. It's nothing at all sinister beer
+1

Can confirm. Nothing sinister. smile

1) This is not, and cannot be financial advice, but you should consider this based on the lease documents and what your liability would be in the event of a total loss. Basically, who bears the risk that the insurance payout will be less than the amount required by the lease company to settle the finance - allowing a contribution for the value of the car? This will be a judgement call, but given the relatively low premiums and the difficulty of either knowing a valuation in advance, or disputing it after the fact, I've gone for it on both my leases.

2) Again, this will vary but I've not been the registered keeper under either lease. This doesn't automatically disqualify you from insurance with all insurers, though some won't touch lease cars (not sure if this is because of the RK issue). I would expect that the Audi would be registered to VWFS.
I've never thought about that (2) before for some reason. So are there specialist insurers for leasers or do you just go through the usual car insurance companies? I presume you have to ring them as I can't imagine them making it straightforward to get a quote online.

The comparison sites can generally handle lease cars pretty well, or you can get a quote and check the assumptions afterwards.

Another +1.

I take it as the desire to help out and perhaps help out someone in BMW who either helped him out or is a friend. No harm in my book.

I got the G2L S3 deal and am enjoying the car immensly, i decided to go for the GAP insurance for peace of mind and also protected the initial 9 upfront payments with that, i used 123 gap insurance,

also i was with M and S on my previous car and phoned to change over but they dont do lease cars, so i switched to churchill easily.

My Dad's ordered a white A6 Allroad 3.0TDI 272ps Quattro Stronic from the Audi main dealer (Preston), 2yr contract, 9k pa, about £11900 overall cost.
Not bad, around 25% of list price over the 2yrs.

Yes they do as I am insured with them. Got a quote online and phoned and told them it was a lease and I was not the registered keeper. New car replacement in the first year if it is a total loss.

If 6+23 then that's about £410 pcm. Sounds ok deal, maybe not stunning. Not sure if it's a car that will attract loads of deals though to be fair.

Well yea the advertised figure was £408 on 6+23 with 8kpa but he wanted to pay £350 a month so put more down in the first month (his choice, told him about losing it if its written off....he might take the GAP to cover £2k of it though).

Yes not stunning but pretty reasonable.

£240/month amortised cost, would need to drive one 1st but can't imagine it's very brisk.

0-60mph in 12s which isn't exactly fast by today's standards but in a mondeo sized car 1.0i 3cyl... Is this the future?!
