i would not believe that, No official news on BMW or Dealers internal systems as far as i have been told. Orders for 135i will carry on
Multiple sources are quoting that 3rd May 2016 is when BMW will be informing dealers. Guess we will find out tomorrow.

So how long after signing up to a deal and paying the admin. fee should you be expecting to hear about your car? Build slot confirmation, timescale etc?

TIA.

I didn't pay admin fee until the order was confirmed and date was set for delivery.
But that was a stock car and one of the more scrupulous brokers.

Any decent deals for a 3/5 series? C class?
Best I can find at the moment is for 520d Msport - £204/month + VAT for 6k, £215/month+ VAT for 8k. BUSINESS deals, 9+23. Various main dealers advertising.

Nothing wrong with the SE suspension on my E92 325i
...and yet I thought the suspension was awful on mine (2005 touring). Different tastes I suppose!
My SE is not on run flats though - that is supposed to make a big difference - or maybe the coupe and touring have different suspension - anyway, define awful. I've had a lot of BMWs and I would never describe any of them as being awful. Some maybe not as good as others......
That's a fair comment - "awful" is a strong word.

I just felt it was too stiff to be comfortable, and yet the front end had a lightness that needed a bit of weight on it before giving any confidence in swift driving. Just a light brake pressure was enough to give some confidence prior to turning, but that was frustrating on "kinks" that didn't actually need any reduction in speed. I imagine a coupe would have the weight balance further forward than a touring, which could be enough.

Thought that looked cheap - unfortunately it may be business only. They do 6+23 quotes on their website for other variants which appear to be a bit cheaper than the 3+23 deal I've got through Nationwide Vehicle Contracts.

Just be warned that, having chased a deal on a Black edition saloon, availability of A6's seems to be extremely limited due to imminent arrival of 2016 Model Year cars. While they may agree to take an order for the 16MY the price will increase.

Do any of these deals stack up if you do more serious annual mileage, say 20,000 or above?

wavey Dave!

Yes, they can, but often not by getting a quote upfront.

Do the maths with the excess mileage charges and its often better to take the lower mileage contract and pay later. Alternatively, deals can be had if you arrange (with the finance company) for an increase in mileage allowance part way through the contract.

The ther thing to be aware of is that higher mileages will make for more wear and tear on the vehicle, so may cost you to bring up to acceptable standard at time of return.

You'll need to do the maths on a car by car basis.
1-pre-pay for all the mileage you expect
2-pay for min. mileage then added excess on the end.

With my BMW, pre-paying for 15k only added 15% to the cost.

eg. BMW 420d
6+23
+VAT

8k £258 56ppm
10k £271 (+5%) 47ppm
15k £305 (+13%) 35ppm
20k £337 (+10%) 29ppm

Did you not end up getting it then? Thinking about sending of the application for a black edition via Nationwide vehicle contracts, seems like a good deal!

I agree its a good deal, but nothing available when I tried. I think you'll be very lucky to find any stock, or order slots.

I also couldn't convince myself I wanted an Audi...!!

That offer includes metallic which helps.

Good luck!

This wasn't myself but I ordered an S5 Black Edition back in Feb for £310 per month and it's just left Germany, I imagine it will be with me at the end of May.

That was me and it fell through. It got closer to £400 and I realised that it didn't include satnav so I backed out.
Thanks both. Very surprised the Black Edition doesn't get satnav (or regular S5 having just checked) but does get B&O sound.

I've ordered and paid the 198 fee with the company my car is coming through. They *seem* very professional and are super efficient - they make the company I've had my previous 3 cars with look so inefficient. I *think* I have a super deal with them (see my panoramic roof post << back there) and if it actually turns up as promised then I will be a very happy bunny indeed and they will be getting a solid 10 out of 10 on here and elsewhere. However just in case things don't proceed as planned I did take the precaution of paying the fee by credit card. I'm a born pessimist.

This page

http://listers.co.uk/Leasing/Offers/BMW?Transmissi...

is a good illustration on how the prices change with mileage allowance - in this case its much more cost effective to pay the higher monthly's than "buy" the excess at the end.
