If you can wait until the new A5 Coupe comes out as you will get a much better deal on the older model.
What?? If you wait until the new one comes out, you won't be able to buy the old model!WWESTY said:

Always make sure the car you are hoping to lease is not about to get replaced.
It can be worth waiting a further month or two if possible to save a good amount once the new model appears.
Strange! I would always say the reverse! Run out of an existing model usually attracts discounts and the manufacturer usually improves the spec too imeIt can be worth waiting a further month or two if possible to save a good amount once the new model appears.
Ze Germans often seem to do run out models loaded with more kit than usual... I suspect they're just running down excess options kit in the parts bin. But as long as you're happy with the outgoing model these are often the cheapest leases going.

With PCP then yes as the model ages the discount gets higher, whereas with PCH it comes down to what support a car is getting, how much stock they need to shift etc. Look at all the 1.4 A4 deals on here 3 months ago when the A4 was first released. The car companies have a motivation to get the production ramped up and get vehicles on the road so deals at the front end can also be expected.
In the end I've gone with a new passat via a broker. From my calculations I'm fairly sure this will be cheaper on a TCO basis than any of the lease deals currently available. It all comes down to how hard you are willing to haggle and access to cheap capital.
I'll keep my eye on any insane deals on things like M5, C63, etc. 2 years ago they were under £500/month inc vat! Seems like most deals these days are for cheaper cars.

What?? If you wait until the new one comes out, you won't be able to buy the old model! But it doesn't tend to work that way with lease deals.
As an example, I leased one of those cheap, e92 M3 which BMW offered when they wanted to fill up their factory's production schedule before the current model was released. The deals were only available on new factory ordered cars
I enquired with a few dealers to see if I could get a car more quickly as there were several matching spec cars in stock across the dealer network at the time. However, they were a lot more expensive as they didn't have anything like the same level of manufacturer support.

You might get a better deal if you are buying outright from old dealer stock.
But it doesn't tend to work that way with lease deals.

Thanks everyone. I will wait and see if any A5 coupe deals materialise on the old model. If anyone sees anything in the next couple of months, please let me know...

Looking for the best deal on an A6 Allroad Sport over 24 months, any pointers?
My Allroad ordered through Nationwide Vehicle Contracts is now apparently in the UK - hope maybe I can have it next week, though I'm awaiting an update. They don't appear to be cheapest now though (and the deals on the Sport model were never as good anyway). Have a look here instead: http://www.vanarama.co.uk/audi-car-leasing/a6-allr...

Again manufactures and finance companies want rid of any old model stock. The deals on the run up and days after the new car in out can save hundreds a month.
The new TT brought some amazing PCP deals on the older model.

Makes more sense now....your original post seemed to imply the new model would be cheaper, but you are now saying that prices on a superceded model are cheaper, which is usually true. You just have to balance that against risk of availability.
I think your post made a lot more sense than mine.As you have stated my wording sounded like you wait until the new car to get a better deal.
But as mentioned it is all to do with stock levels. I am sure most now make sure their stock is well gone before the new model is out.
Still worth looking at though :-)

Not always, it depends on supply/demand balance. The cheapest deals on the new Tiguan are still 50% more than the run out deals on the old one, and that's for SE TDI Nav 150 that has slightly lower spec than the last Match spec.It can be worth waiting a further month or two if possible to save a good amount once the new model appears.
