Voe = voice of experience, sorry!

Agree about suv and diesel and manual....but obviously personal choice.

Also agree re options....some are "expected" so if the car doesn't have them value will be reduced. Others just don't add anything (I'm referring to most mainstream vehicles). Eg if I was looking for a used BMW I would be looking for one with satnav, or expect it to be cheaper. If I found one that had a sunroof it would be more desirable, but not worth more.

Re delivery times relevant to 2 posts. I have an A6 on order - ordered mid May for delivery in 10-12 weeks. I have pestered broker and supplying dealer and have tracking number, and up to today there has been zero progress. It's looking like late August delivery at best, more realistically September. Since this will cause me issues I have told them if there is still no further news next week I will cancel.
If, for the above reasons, I had ordered from "stock" then I would expect a turn round within 7-10 days...

Maybe I'm asking the wrong squad. Surely it must depend on the type of car. I know when I have bought high value used cars before I have paid more for higher spec cars.
More importantly for the original questioner - what happens when you sell those cars?
It was my post. I wanted to lease, and then I fell in to the trap of really wanting a particular car, which is an Audi, which means anything decent is an optional extra. I just can't bring myself to add £5000 of options to a lease car. Well, I never would. So decided it might be best to PCP it, because I've been offered 27% off list price. Yum.

It's still expensive, but I'm hoping that by the time I get to the end of the 24 month term (best monthly/final payment combo for my budget), the big discount and high spec will leave me with a car that hasn't lost as much as it could have done. If I am right, then when I work it out its cheaper per month than a lease. If I get the equity, that's the gamble. I might even sell at 18 months knowing me.

Thanks re voe.....ever day is a school day smile

I've got 4 months from order to delivery so hopefully ok....I would rent a car for a month or 2 without getting too twitchy but longer than that would be an issue. Time to wait and see I guess.

Good luck with you car order though. Hope you get some movement shortly.

Some independant rental companies will do a deal for a longer than usual rental, you also have companies like Northgate that do longer than usual rental deals smile

Who knows? There probably won't be a massive difference. I did that calculation when I got a Tiguan Match 150TDi for the missus last Sept.

Was looking at 3yr/5K mile deals. 2WD manual's in solid colours were cheap to lease (£220 ish). 4Motion DSG were £300. At the time the overall spec was good (inc sat nav) but ludicrously didn't have cruise or folding mirrors so those, and metallic, bumped up the lease. Metallic was particularly annoying - over a 3yr lease you more than paid the option cost.

WBAC pricing on 3yr old cars was £11K for the 2WD manual. £16K for DSG (includes 4Motion). Got the car for £24K. Great! Can run it for 3yrs and worst case (WBAC) value likely to be £16K - £222/mth.

A week after delivery the emissions news came out. That £16K is looking like £12K. £333/mth. Doh!

Suck it and see then! If it doesn't work out then lesson learned, but it won't make me homeless. If I'm lucky, then I'll be chuffed with the decision, whilst enjoying the luxury of a "£62k" car in the process.

I'm guessing S6 smile

Lease prices for those are all over the place. Best I could see was this : https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/car-leasing...

Basically, £16,500 for 2-year lease including VAT+fees. 6+23 @ £556. Your £5K options would cost another £200/month.

Forgot to mention that on a lease, you basically "pay" list price for options. If you're buying/PCPing and getting a discount you should be able to get the same discount on any options.

Correct with exception of extended warranty. No discount on that

Looking for the best deal on an A6 Allroad Sport over 24 months, any pointers?
My Allroad ordered through Nationwide Vehicle Contracts is now apparently in the UK - hope maybe I can have it next week, though I'm awaiting an update.

They don't appear to be cheapest now though (and the deals on the Sport model were never as good anyway). Have a look here instead: http://www.vanarama.co.uk/audi-car-leasing/a6-allr...
Thanks Jobbo, I have spoken to Ollie there, just awaiting a final quote.

Do you mind if I ask what deal you got?

I'm paying £277 a month on a 65 plate 5 door S3 DSG, NAV with comfort pack with a 9+23 profile.

Was from G2L. In white, offer was white, red and black
Quoted today 2400 down and 275 a month on an s tronic S3 sportback with met paint 10k per annum on a 2 yr. seemed decent especially for the facelifted model. however not too keen on the looks so wanted sepang blue and the black styling kit to make it bearable. both no longer available!!!!!

Probably common knowledge to most but I didn't know so I will share.

Whilst options add to the cost of the lease a lot, I didn't pay the dealership cost on the ones I added. There was a discount to them so maybe worth checking before you rule them in and out.

Ref the A6 Allroad deal mentioned above. Vanarama were cheaper than anyone when I looked yesterday and a decent bit cheaper than Nationwide. Can't vouch for how good they are thoughappy but there is a no quibble money back on the fee prior to car collection so some comfort there.

Mine is a 272PS on 3+23, £337.14 per month inc VAT, 8k miles, £180 admin fee inc VAT. But I added some limited options (yes, despite what I said above laugh) so I'm actually paying £367.14.

If I were ordering now, I could get a Sport version from Vanarama for the same price so I'd have gone for that.

Ah, with the S4 engine. Nice smile

But £70K list on an S6? You, sir, must have a heavy hand with the options list! (S6 : 22% discount from Broadspeed, BTW)

You'll struggle. RS3 is out of production now. That and there will be very little support available for any stock cars that do exist so I'd expect you'd be paying through th enose
