My new leased Smart Gateway said I was the keeper and Mercedes the owner.

When I called for my 7 day free insurance I asked was that correct she said yes.

Car delivered - piece of paper said Mercedes the keeper, so I called Mercedes Exeter where it came from, lady said they are both keeper and owner.

Called back insurance Smart insurance to say needs to be changed, they said no that's wrong I'm definitely the keeper of a leased car but will make a note, called back the dealer...another lady this time said I am the keeper and her colleague was wrong, keeper on their bit of paper means they own it!!

I am keeping it as me as the keeper as have the damn thing.

Answer seems to be nobody knows! I've done all I can to get it right.
You're registered keeper when VC5 is in your name. Otherwise, leasing company is the keeper. So it's easiest to ask if VC5 will be in your name or theirs.

Assuming at that price it is only 5000 miles?

Indeed. Pile in and feast on the buffet, before it's all snapped up.

They're doing the manual Cupra estate on a similar deal, just not the DSG. Bump it to 8k miles and it doesn't go up much (£15-20 a month) and then pay the extra as excess mileage: https://www.centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/vehicle/...

NVS is a few quid cheaper. Try the fleet sales team at a VW dealership, they should at least match the figure and save admin fees. Vindis Bedford were competetive the last time around on these.

16% of (pre-discount) list price for 2 years, that's got to be one of the best 'value' deals out there surely?

Sorry I'm probably being thick, if they are advertised as "stock" vehicles does that mean the car has been built or that they have a build slot, just that some sites still offer the options list as though you can change the spec.

Thanks again for your help

It more than likely means they have a car with a delivery timescale of below 2 weeks or (if the cars are with the dealers) sometime it could be stock of cars that are 3/4 weeks away these are built and are awaiting dispatch to the dealers.

More often than not if it say in stock its not a long lead time.

hope this helps
