When will this craze for white cars end...............!!!Looks very clean
I've only driven one once - at Bruntingthorpe - thought it was great and, being encouraged by the owner to give it some stick, I could definitely feel the back of the car moving about on tight direction changes
GL with the sale. Hope you don't regret it!
I'll never sell mine. Had it ten years now and I know I can't realistically do better.
I ran a 986 Boxster and mildly tuned Evo 9 at the same time and when rationalising the the Integra was the keeper.
I disagree with people saying get a JDM over this car. Mine is JDM and I'd glad, but from what I've read the UK spec car isn't really inferior in any meaningful way. I've read the UK spec cars had re-tuned power steering for more weight and feedback. Don't now how true that is as I've never driven one.
imo the 98'spec is a very slight (as in not noticeable in the real word) improvement but is over tyred which ruins the handling. I've got '98 spec rear control arms and have run '98 spec springs dampers, wheels and tyres and it is ridiculously more grippy, so you can't enjoy the balance as often. That was a backwards step by Honda.
Seeing as we're all hijacking this thread posting pics of our own cars...

Had a 98 spec JDM DC2 and a DC5. DC2 is a better car out of the box but throw a load of mods at the DC5 and you will be going a lot quicker, but having no more fun than you would in a DC2.
THE beat drivers car I have ever owned. So focussed on dispatching corners it becomes a game! Nothing quite like that LSD hooking up and ripping you round a bend with some nice AD08's on the rims. And mine was on standard suspension, on the UK roads it was nothing but compliant and perfectly balanced.
The term sticks like sh!t to a blanket" must have been concieved when the Honda test driver took a DC2 out for the first time...
I've driven loads of hot hatches, I've pretty much run out of hot hatches and there's nothing that comes close to a DC2. Its a no compromise screamer which gives hours of fun making decent progress and they are reliable as hell.
Currently drive an E46 M3.
As for the Audi comments, well.... no, no I cant!!!!
Laughable.

S157FTO where are you now.....
Hi Jatinder - I kept S157FTO for just over two years (it was my 2nd DC2) and sold it to another enthusiast back in March of this year. It was refreshed with new Honda shocks, new calipers, new rad, CL RC5+ pads, Yoko AD08s, etc and it was damn good on both track and road.S157FTO where are you now.....
BUT
they are now getting on and there's a limited market for 15+ year old Japanese cars. I replaced it with a new Subaru BRZ and haven't looked back.
When I brought mine I was adamant I wanted the JDM version as I just couldn't get on with the looks of the UK front, however my opinion has since changed and I think these days I actually prefer the looks of the UK model.
Mine came with the 15" Volks TE37s, ARC intake, Mugen manifold, aftermarket exhaust with 5zigen back-box, up-rated engine mounts, and a lower Bride driver seat rail. I added the 98 spec 282mm front brake discs and 98 spec calipers.
Cosmetically it was never the cleanest example out there (it was certainly no show queen!) but that suited me fine as I brought it to use purely as a daily driver for a couple of years to ease up the mileage I was putting on my slightly less accomplished piece of Jap automotive history.
It actually made a surprisingly good daily driver, and always stood out among the sea of sliver/black audi/BMWs at client meetings...

Lovely cars guys. That yellow one is ultra-rare so never let it go!
I've actually had 4 DC2s in various states of modification and a slighty-mugenified DC5. Both are useable daily drivers, and closer to each other than any other car so probably splitting hairs. The DC5 had a much 'nicer' interior - less raw and nicer plastics, plus satnav etc. Because of that, the DC2 feels a bit more of a classic and a bit more special. I like to close my eyes sometimes and pretend I'm in an F40. Bit of a stretch I know but I get 80% of the joy of an F40 at 0.5% of the price.
The Starion!! Soooooo 80s! I love it.

Amazing cars these, And I think people who automatically dismiss a car for being FF needs to try one.
The way these cars turn in and handle is exceptional, That 9k RPM buzz coupled with the gear change is a blast.
I have always been impressed with how well equipped these cars are from a mechanical point of view likes of the quick ratio steering rack to the front & rear double wishbone setup along with the 'tight' mechanical LSD.
Overall they feel mechanically robust and can withstand whatever you would want to throw at it.
However in this day an age, There are much nicer cars to drive on a daily basis. These are an ideal and relatively affordable 2nd car for thrills IMO, Also due to the fact the body on them is pretty fragile particularly in our climate.
I imported one from Japan in late 2013, Shame I didn't find it practical to keep two cars any longer, Miss it dearly. I now have bought an FN2 as half way point, daily car. It feels like a bus in-comparison, But I still enjoy it for what it is.

A great car, but they are getting old, and tired. But car prices are a joke at the moment. The mint ones are really expensive which push the not so mint ones up in price. Mechanically they are mostly sound, just syncro's and oil burners to look out for. Handling and engine is so good, so playful and sublime.
Had 3 UK DC2s, 1 JDM DC2, 3 DC5s, prefer the DC5, feels better built, less like a go kart but very responsive to modifications, and handles just as well imo. Had an EK9 and EK9 Cup Car, imo if you want an amazing handling FWD car get an EK9. Only downside is its a 1.6.

Why oh why do people claim their car to be 'virtually immaculate' when clearly it isn't? Immaculate means immaculate and age has nothing to do with it. It's either immaculate or it isn't. Now don't get me wrong, I like these and owned an EP3 Type R some years ago. I can see that the owner is a out and out car guy considering his previous and current stock too. I can also relate to his reluctance to sell due to circumstances. But please, don't treat us all like herberts by describing one car and putting up pictures of another................
Someone mentioned DC5 goes faster with mods - the whole point of the ITR was that you could enjoy driving it without needing to be going a mental speed.
I had one for 3 1/2 yrs and its the only car ive ever sold that i missed. If i sold my 996 Turbo tomorrow, id miss it a little, but no big deal - 9 yrs on i still miss that damn magnolia honda.
Im keeping an eye out for a mint UK car tho... and i will buy one and never sell it again!
Nothing iver ever driven handles like the ITR and yep its a 15yr old crappy jap car without 4 rings ... and thats what makes it even more special.

You've just reminded me it is immaculate so I have changed the price to £10,000 OFOSt John Smythe said:

I think I'll keep it unless anyone gets in touch after it has finished now - a few people I have spoken to are interested but outside of London. Sadly that does mean bye-bye Griffith to keep to within the two car limit :-(
They are brilliant cars, I bought mine last year and will never sell it. They feel special as soon as you get in and it only gets better when you start driving. Will never get bored of the engine either, the noise and the way it revs is awesome.
I bought it from the first owner who had it for 16 years. I just need to use it more, I've only done 2000 miles in the last year.
