That's great. Its nice to see my E30 BMW is still on the road: and nicely clocked, too.
I took it past 100k back in the late 90s. It did it again earlier this year.

Quite depressing that, three cars I sold over the years as I was conviced they were on their last legs are still going strong, all of them now pushing 200,000 miles

One in particular I should have kept......

If I search for my car by its current personalised registration it comes up as a Honda c50 moped that failed its mot in 2008.

If I search for the number plate that was on it when I bought it the correct results are all there just under the older plate from before the transfer (that took place in Feb this year).

Great site. Thanks
Just spotted an old bmw of mine that I'm certain had more miles on it when I sold it than the recorded mileage a year later! Unless maybe I'm mistaken... scratchchin

My old 159 is doing well, I traded it in on the brink of death at 85000 miles needed a couple of grands work on it, now has 130,000 and sailed through the last three MOTs with no advisories, quite proud of it.

The funny thing to me is seeing advisories in the past which I never had repaired, and then they never appear since. Tells you alot about the consistency of testing.

Pretty eye opening when looking at the history of cars for sale..

I'm after my 3rd puma.

The last two I checked on the site had unfixed oil leaks for a few years and one of those a coolant leak and low coolant for 2 years running!

So how would you use this new information? Would you print off the MOT history and take it with you for a car you were going to view, and use it as leverage? For example I just looked up a random car on autotrader and one of the past advisories was an exhaust in poor condition 2 years ago, which didn't appear the next year. I guess I'd use that to ask about the exhaust.

And even more interestingly, there was an MOT failure for 2 tyres below 1.6mm tread. That tells me the car hasn't been looked after very well.

No point looking at the Twingo because I've done every MoT on it.

Looked at my old Corsa, glad I got rid of it when I did. Seems the rust spread far and fast...

Something even more odd.

I took my P/P off the Subaru some 4 years ago, it reverted back to it's original registration. I've just put the original reg into the site but it came back as not recognised. However, I've put the P/P into it and it comes up with the MOT history since 2006.

Very strange

Wow, got rid of my old jag xjs at the right time, year after I sold it:

Power steering fluid level below minimum (2.3.1)

Nearside Inner Front Body or chassis has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of the body mountings (6.1.B.2)

Parking brake: efficiency below requirements (3.7.B.7)
Nearside Headlamp aim too low (1.8)
Offside Windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid (8.2.3)
Nearside Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (8.2.2)
Nearside Steering rack gaiter split (2.2.D.2d)

Mind you, "exhaust has a major leak" is on every MOT since the records on this website begin hehe and OH NO! winscreen washer provides insufficient fluid?! Disaster!

Just checked my current car (nissan stagea) and there was a mix up of miles/km odometer readings by previous MOT testers. True mileage is under 100,000 miles but the odo says 130,000. Most of that is km before it was imported. A prospective buyer wouldn't necessarily deduce that so if others are using this website to research prospective new cars then it might not be too reliable

How long before this is common knowledge and people will cover up their plates on ads? some do it already and I usually avoid.
Bit pointless when you can turn up to look at a car and load up the MOT history in less than 30 secs on your phone.
