BORING SHED!!!! Surprised its not in resale silver. I would be embarrassed to drive a heap of ugly old ste like this. A true dull as dishwater (DAD) car. It looks as exciting as a cardboard box. Even if you dump a 1000 bhp engine in this, it isn't for me, 2 out of 10. You would think this car came out in the 1970's or 80's by the looks of it.
Actually it did come out in the 1980s. And its far more interesting than either of the cars listed in your PH-garage. wink

Years ago I tried to get a Legacy saloon on our company car scheme. I had test driven one out of curiosity and was blown away. It was different and fun. The lease company came back with a ridiculous quote. When I challenged them they admitted that they were biased against 4wd and factored in high maintenance charges as a precaution. Such a shame.

And as if by complete fluke, which it was, I posted two pics of Leggy/Libs and both were boring silver. And as a Dad I can confirm they are ace Dad's cars too. Unless you have 3 or more kids, in which case they're ever so slightly too small. Which is an arse. I'll have another one day. Top shed.

I was very tempted by one of these in the early 00's. Sadly, I decided against it. It would have been a great mountain biking wagon.

Fond memories of my Dad test driving one back in the early '90's.
Performance was very healthy for the era (7/140) and I don't think the salesman
Was quite ready for the full bore standing start run up to +120 performed by my Dad on
the local dual carriageway....
Hahaha! I had exactly the same thought when I saw this! My old man didn't do the standing start but did take me for a very exciting ride along a windy road next a lake on the test drive. I was surprised we didn't end up wet but still very sad he didn't buy one.

Hmm, I've always had a soft spot for the Legacy, especially in estate form...

I've had an itch for a Spec B 3.0R for some time.

Anyone experience of these?

These were official UK cars, in the days before grey imports were still, well, grey.
MX5s were official UK cars too but that didn't stop a flood of Eunos imports. I don't know what the deal is here, just positing why it might be registered many years after it was built.

That type of material on those seats from that era seems to be made of kryptonite.

If you look back at Audi 100, 80, Coupe and such they have those "velour" seats with the headrest with a hole in it, and after all these years they look pitch perfect. Compare that to leather which will be baggy and or cracked.

Those Audi seats will shrug off our sun going to a red giant stage in 5 billion years time.

And SOTW is definitely a Gen 1 - pic of a Gen 2...

10/10 from me. The 2.0 Legcay Turbo I owned for six years is the best car I've ever owned, and that includes some much more expensive and more powerful machinery (one of them bein a twin-turbo Legacy).

Quick, lovely sound, but the best thing was the pliant ride and handling. Yes it may have rolled more than some rivals, but on potholed, uneven, twisty roads, it was so, so sure-footed.

I took mine up to 190,000 miles and it was still going strong when I sold it. Loved it loved it loved it.

Best shed for a long time.

The newer "WR" version of the legacy is looking like my perfect car at the moment. Getting some funds together and I'll see if any import friends can put some feelers out.

Didn't the Mk.I Legacy Turbo hold the world 100,000km speed record for some years? If memory serves, something like 136mph average for 100k km, from a car with a top speed of 143mph when it wasn't carrying a roll cage.

I've just realised that three of the last four sheds have been cars I've owned. This one was definitely top of the tree, though. Wouldn't swap this for a Nova.
