So you start in 2010 for example with "This 360 is really nice, hmm like that"
to something in 2016 that becomes : THIS 488 IS SUPER SUPER MEGA AWESOME MENTAL INSANE!...I SIMPLY DON'T HAVE THE WORDS!"
Well you do... and you've used them all.... repeatedly...
...sometimes...we can hear and see how good it is from a well filmed segment...with a few good cameras/drones/mics....
but again, I'm not and it shouldn't be directed solely at Shmee. The content on there is plentiful and if you're not in the mood you try something else...
You have no idea how much this rubbish world of click-bait drives me nuts; unfortunately the genuinely good stuff gets totally lost in a world of videos with idiotic titles. Unfortunately to keep up and make my own business work I have to slightly play the game, although I do my absolute best to do it in the least offensive way possible.

Was that before Nicole made the Clio sexy?

Fascinating to be reminded about Old Top Gear. Not surprising that Old Top Gear died.

I've been watching Jay Leno's Garage lately.
The P1 and 918 pieces were brilliant.

He seems like he targets more of the PH Demographic, may I suggest people check it out.
Watched them - great, thanks.

Seem to be so many people attempting to climb aboard the car channel bandwagon. Repeatedly introducing people and then dropping the info into conversation. Just because you've got access to a nice car and a GoPro, it doesn't mean people will be interested in hearing your opinions! Hats off to the established / successful channels but please stop with the introductions.

Have you got your own garage at the Nuburgring Shmee?

The reason I ask is seeing your logo on this Boosted Boris video - https://youtu.be/Cpu581qcZjQ?t=4m41s

Not the title words, or those written on the little photo....the language used within the film itself....

Unfortunately that's wrong, if you go with the latter method that's where YouTube's algorithm's will squish your content and it's game over.

I would prefer a world where the titles are "Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifologio - Test Drive in Italy", something that's brutally accurate and simple, not "OMG THE GIULIA QUADRIFOGLIO IS THE BEST EVER!!!" Unfortunately the majority of viewers (whether we like it or not) will always click the later and the future of that individual video's algorithmical positioning is based on the initial reaction and click-through response.

I think you're saying the same thing aren't you ?

One way pushes content the other depends more on pull from the punter.

The former is much more rewarding than the latter from a volume of eyballs standpoint.

Possibly! It's just unfortunate that only one methodology works as a business case, the other falls flat.

50-100 is actually absolutely fine. What's been going on is the B Book OTC brokers have been deliberately escalating leverage as beyond 100x you very clearly facilitate client churning and wipe-out. We all know this ruse. The regulators have chosen to turn a blind eye but have finally been pushed into action by their paymasters and are rushing to be seen as not having been asleep for the last 8 years.

In addition to suitable leverage you also need to apply concentration limits on clients based on their financial capacity. But obviously if you aren't doing KYC on your clients then you have no idea what limits to force on them but then it doesn't matter if you are B booking all the flow as the quicker they wipe out and owe you money the better.

Now the FCA has awoken and is frightened that people will realise that yet again they've been doing fk all to enforce their own rules and guidelines we are going to see a fair amount of over reaction from them and wildly erroneous scribblings from journos who can't be arsed to understand what they talking about. biggrin

As a CFD trader myself i'm shocked to see these greedy youtubers promoting trading companies. These trading platforms are absolutely not for newbies.

Glad to hear there's a crack down that's being reflected in the hammering +30% of share prices such as IG Group/CMC markets.

New to the thread, but fairly familiar with all of the youtubers discussed.

Surprised no one has posted the following, especially in light of the recent T212 talk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTav0DbUDtE
A heads up, it is a parody. At the end they discuss their thoughts and they share the sentiment of many on here regarding the trading platforms, so I thought it might be of interest.

Whilst I've linked it, I think the content Chris of DedicationBlog creates (although less charismatic and professional than others) is closer aligned to the interests of the 'PH demographic' which Tim has referred to here on a few occasions.

Chris posts a lot of footage from his track days and of his drift car which he built from the ground up. He waffles sometimes and at first comes across a bit monotone, but he's generally interesting, clued up on cars (and driving) and seems very sincere. I could see his content attracting a typical PHer much more so than a preteen Shmee/SOL/STG subscriber.

On that note, where I used to try watch every car video released by the car related youtubers, they have all managed to lose my undivided interest at one point or another. I now dabble, watching only episodes that look of interest. This is how You Tube works best. Like Tim has said, if you don't like it, there's no requirement to tune in or comment. YouTube and VOD content is the new TV... and you wouldn't waste your time watching something you don't like on C5 while your favourite show was on ITV. I think with YT you should pick and choose in the same way to get the most out of it.

The only exception is Salomondrin who has, quite simply, won the game for me. On paper there is no real reason why I should like him or relate to him (and at first I really didn't think much of him). I now genuinely look forward to each and every video he posts. They (him and his buddies) are infectiously funny even when not doing much and, as such, are a real pleasure to follow.

I'm afraid you are showing your age. I too feel the same way.

The guy who runs the SOL channel still lives at home with his mum and has strapped himself up on finance to pay for his Gallardo and an A1

If I remember correctly Drive (remember them?) Said youtube only paid £1.30-£2.60 per thousand views which made their model unsustainable . This is why Chris Harris and Harry Metcalfe use patreon to provide additional funding. This is also why muppets like SOL produce tedious videos of themselves talking to camera whilst driving round Watford in order to try and get the views to fund his cars
Well, for shmee this last month it was only 7400 quid, the thing is, he is paid from multiple companies left and right + adsense. Every time there is a wrap, an exhaust, a shop, the exxon or mobil or whatever trip, etc he is getting paid. He is making, quite comfortable, the double that he makes on Adsense, on this advertising deals.

As for the rest, agreed.

Edit: Plus he has almost 1M on instagram and I guess similar numbers on facebook. So just a post on instagram will be around 1k to 10k and 1k is very cheap. Anytime you see @somebrand or #somebrand that mention alone costed at least 1k.

cmoose, As someone who spends an hour a day, every day, studying Analytics (and of a financial background prior to that) I honestly can only tell you that it's vastly more complicated than you realise. You are welcome not to believe me but the evidence on my end doesn't lie, nor do I feel I want to publish my research.

YouTube algorithms change on a disturbingly regular basis, you cannot compare many years of history to current situations, it just doesn't work like that.
