Are these Vloggers just a scam? SOL or Shmee etc???????
Discussion
Bit of advertising from Shmee, much less cringe-worthy this time, getting to attend a press launch/unboxing a Huawei Porsche design phone, in a classic porsche!

I have a couple questions for you Tim, as you seem fairly active on this thread. Do you get to keep the phones after your review them? (They're pretty pricey) Will you keep it as a new daily? I'm a bit of tech-head and noticed in a recent video you were using a S7 Edge, how does it compare? Cheers.

Saw the latest LT video. Really do love that colour and wheel combination the more I see it.
However, I did notice at around the 2:40 the driver seat bolster looks to be quite badly worn or perhaps the fabric isn't fitting the seat as well as it should. I had similar issues with my car and it's currently back with a firm specialist having new seat covers fitted. Could be the lighting but that fabric definitely looks like a bad fit. Anyone else see this or is it just me? Screenshot below:
Is this not colour transfer from clothing? MrJWW had a similar issue with his LT that had orange seats, he highlighted this then his car was in for PPF. They gave me a Mate 9 but in all honesty I won't use it, I will buy myself a Porsche Design one because I was genuinely keen on that (I know it's over the top pricey). If only the car companies would let you keep the cars...!
My regular phone currently is an S7, which is about 5 months old and has already gone to pieces; paint coming off around the bezel, software can't keep up etc etc. However, I probably push my phones harder than 99.9% of the people in this world.
That video of the Focus RS in Scotland was great. It came across as someone that enjoyed cars having fun in one of the best places in this country. Somewhere I'd love to take my ST (a RS must have been great), I think you're very lucky.
The logistics of leaving and moving cars around must take some planning.
STG America videos have been alright to watch too. His editing is getting better and better.

Shame that STG has no idea how to drive a normal car and looks like if you were to plonk him in a normal part of the UK he wouldn't have a clue what to do.
He should be on made in Chelsea not attempting to review cars.
Annoys me that Renault let him loose in a 220 trophy round a track and both him and Seb didn't have a clue on anything about it. Then when I email Renault say that they don't have any to allocate.

It would be pretty awesome if a car manufacturer offered you to keep a model you had tested, you'd hardly turn them down!

I live locally to St. Andrews, and I can concur, the roads are fantastic around here. One of the things Tim seems to do well is appeal to multiple demographics, which is why he can court differing opinions. I love the Supercar related stuff, the recent road tests of more affordable performance cars, and the road trips (like Scotland, Gumball etc) The trading212 one, not so much, although I think that fell under the 'this company paid for this road trip, better plug it at every opportunity' It's not what i'd do given the advertiser, however it fits in the business model and this is trial and error. The Grand Tour trailer, the stick was deserved :P
All in all I enjoy the content, and appreciate the answer to my original question - cheers!
The scam bit are the ads.
Thousands of kids signed up to watch car videos, with ads running for products that have no relevance, appeal or cannot afford.
Those ads are paid for by gullible brands, that pay YT that pay "content producers" their cut.
It's a giant load of utter turd.
When brands wake up, and some are already this giant folly will end.

With the use of cookies, etc, I’m sure YT is capable of aimimg the right advertising at the right demographic. As for ‘brands waking up’, I think you’ll find there are plenty of established brands using YT advertising, and the reason why they’re established brands is because they’re fully wide awake and tuned into how to get the most response from their advertising budget. I’ve been in business for 20 years, and monitor closely every response we get from every pound of advertising spent. No matter what media of advertising, it’s usually very easy to monitor, and I’m sure these ‘gullible’ companies you speak of, are doing exactly the same as me, and won't be throwing money at 'giant follies'.Thousands of kids signed up to watch car videos, with ads running for products that have no relevance, appeal or cannot afford.

Can't say I agree. Adblock broke on youtube in FF recently so have been forced to watch ads, I would say 80% of them are relevant to sites and products I browse when not using a proxy and a tracking blocker.Thousands of kids signed up to watch car videos, with ads running for products that have no relevance, appeal or cannot afford.

And now Mr JWW has jumped on the trading 212 bandwagon by partnering with them.

Trading 212 were awesome enough to buy me a car for the MrJWW channel! Typically a new car collection would take place at a dealership or a garage. But i sent the new Porsche 991 GT3 RS straight to the winding roads of the Tuscany hills to appreciate it in all it's glory from day one!
