I like Shmee; I think he could be a good journo one day. But for me, no one beats Leno for YT videos
No one can touch Motor Trends IMOAll the youtube vloggers have their pro's and con's
Leno has a massive auto passion but can be a bit monotone when speaking
Shmee is poor as a 'proper' car jurno but can be very interesting when he covers the bits n bobs we never get to see elesewhere
Borris can be funny
Woohooo girls are great to f*p over
etc.

And now Mr JWW has jumped on the trading 212 bandwagon by partnering with them.
This seems like a very odd marketing exercise to me. I don't imagine many people would sign up to a forex spread betting service as a result of watching a YT car video.Having said that, I understand very little about marketing/advertising.

Shmee on the other hand wouldn't even stop for a photo..
That doesn't seem very fair, I spent 2-4 hours on each day of the Gumball trying to entertain grids and take selfies - unfortunately one does have to call it a day eventually because there are so many people at Gumball you'd otherwise be doing it around the clock.anniesdad said:

I think Jay Leno likes the sound of his own voice too much. Doesn't let the other person get a word in. Don't mind the odd flick through YT for very specific car videos by Shmee and his like , quite entertaining at times even a bit informative.
But the adverts are a pita, and I'm now at the point where if I can't skip the ad after 5 seconds I don't watch the video at all.
I don't think I'll be alone either.

Watching these videos just makes me think the same thing I think when blokes in the office start talking about their latest (usually German) car purchase.
They're not into driving, they're into gadgets and posing.
Case in point: bloke on phone to Maserati dealer. "Oh there's a diesel on the way?! Brilliant!". I said to him, "you can't surely be thinking of ordering a diesel Maserati?". He didn't understand. To him, a Maser is just the next step on from an Audi, which is one up from a VW in the posing stakes. It's sad what happens to great car makers when they start chasing this market segment.

I watch a lot of the chaps mentioned here quite regularly. I watched Shmees Huracan Spider with race exhaust video not too long ago and that was pretty good.
Its all just good entertainment in my eyes, as someone who loves cars. Glad that these things exist, and if its something that doesn't take my fancy there are so many other choices available.

Ridiculously underrated channel imo.I really dislike the whole youtube personality thing, Between the click bait titles, The "wow this is amazing" videos. Its never really gelled with me. Not just with cars but in alot of niche's its taken over, Fitness ones are equally as bad "7 CHEST EXERCISES YOUR NOT DOING", Then the video is just some guy doing obscure stuff nobody would ever to for the sake of the video.
Have watched most of DannyDC2's videos, mainly as i enjoy watching onboard track videos with no ridiculous editing and funny camera angles and switching cameras every 2 seconds. The more more "vloggey" stuff i kind of skip over but following the DC2 after the smash at the nurburgring and getting it back on track was interesting to watch and he's fairly handy behind the wheel minus the nurburging and cadwell park incident.

What a frankly incredible video to watch. There is one significant problem that has been discussed at length on earlier pages of this thread, unfortunately YouTube is not the platform for premium quality content (as discovered by Chris Harris) because the mass numbers want quantity over quality. Something that is filmed and edited to look straight-from-camera, or done in a way that the viewer feels they could be there or part of the activity is hugely better for natural and organic engagement. It's the exact same philosophy that has allowed and pushed the existence of platforms like Instagram and SnapChat.
I can't imagine how long that video took to put together but for sure the editing is hours and hours of work, rendering the possibility of creating daily videos almost impossible.
